I have been to Posada Mayor de Migueloa 4 times and have always been happy to return. The location cannot be better as it is in the heart of this typical medieval village which is still surrounded by walls and close to all local amenities. The Hotel has its own cellar they produced their own wine. You can visit the...

We've stayed here twice when we visited Rioja. We love the location and the ambiance. It's a 16th century building, actually two buildings, a home and an inn, opened up together to create this small inn, furnished with antiques. Right in the center of town, it is just a short walk in one direction to the city square, a main...

We so wanted our first night in Laguarda to be good, so thought the frontage was one if the best, but how wrong we were. My wife wanted to clarify the Scallop offering and although not a convincing reply I risked it bad move, 1-euro size at best and awful algratin poor bland. I mean how do you get bland...

We wanted a hotel en route from Barcelona to San Sebastián. What a lovely surprise. The hotel is set within the old city walls in the beautiful ancient town of Laguardia. The building is a warren of old stone stairs and wooden beams. The staff were very helpful and the room comfortable. We stayed for dinner and ate at tables...

We loved our stay at Posada Mayor de Migueloa. Beautiful historic hotel in the walled area of Laguardia. We had a beautiful large room on the top floor. There is also a nice patio on this top floor - great place to sit with a book and take in the city. Great service (even with our limited Spanish) - we...

We LOVED our three day stay at Posada Mayor de Migueloa and were sad to leave. Our first room did not suit us due to queen size bed and we were immediately given a choice of another two that were available. Javier was friendly and welcoming and was amazingly helpful in getting a jacket my son had left in previous...

A beautiful medieval Spanish building - with it's own wine cellar and free wine tasting. Very charming and romantic! Juan was charismatic and helpful. Breakfasts were delightful and we were served grandly at 5:30AM!

The Guttierez family is in the wine making business and they also run this hotel. While we were there Juan, one of the owner’s sons was managing the hotel. Juan made us feel extremely welcome and looked after all of our needs. He also made us laugh quite a lot. We enjoyed the free wine tasting and cheese plate in...

We spent the best 3 days of our month in Northern Spain at the Posada. A family and location which has been creating wines since 1630. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and the staff could not be more gracious. Juan Guttierez, the latest in the generational winemakers, takes an active hand in creating a welcome atmosphere. LaGuardia may be the...

From the showing of our magnificent room, to helping carrying our luggage, and to absolutley treating us like we were part of the family, we are in love with this place. Our dinner entertainment was a solid two hours. The unmatched taste and delicacy of everything in the meal was truly undescribable. The host and hostess are so original, so...
