The recently renovated hotel consists of 19 rooms, lounge with television, coffee-bar near the beach, has breakfast room and reception. Thanks to the strategic position close to organized beach (only 10 meters), all rooms offer stunning view at the sea or the mountains. In antiquity, the island of Aegina was one of the most powerful city-states and cut off the first currencies - the silver "turtles." Today, the island of Aegina seems to be taken out from film, with picturesque houses, alleys, fertile soil, hills with trees, and deep blue sea. Aegina is also known for its pistachios (which are very tasty), for the local fish, but also for many other local products. On the east coast of the island, is the Agia Marina, a lively seaside village and popular tourist destination of the island, just 25 minutes from the town of Aegina. The Agia Marina is the most beautiful and famous tourist destination and is located on the east side of the island of Aegina. It is beautiful, with sandy beaches and shallow waters, which extend from the port just around the coast, to the old port where the small chapel of St. Marina, which gave its name to the region. The coast of Agia Marina is protected from the surrounding mountains, the vast sandy beach that forms a semicircle and tilts gently to the crystal clear water is ideal for swimming. Distances from the hotel Liberty2 Organized sandy beaches - 10 meters The port of Agia Marina - 10 meters Pool - 100 meters Cafes, bars, restaurants, etc. are located nearby Liberty2, just a few steps. Family long weekend in this nice hotel in Agia Marina. Its 2 minutes walking from the beach, good value for money, very friendly owners, great breakfast, super clean and good WiFi connection. The besr part though was the day&night view from the bar. I would definitely go back soon!

Very nice hotel which overlooks the bay of Agia Marina. It is a basic Greek hotel but everything worked fine and the included breakfast was great. Shame about the barking dog ! Location is magnificent as it’s just 40 metres down the drive to the beautiful beach.

Cheapie (doubted fresh) breakfast forced you to pay for..since they concider price/night included. Only stay at the 3 beach view rooms. Impossible to sit at any other's room private balcony cause of the Air condition moter that is overheating the air. The only person who is trying hard is a maid and all by herself is trying to keep it clean!!! Avoid to ask for a juice or chocolate drink - it will cost you double compares to the area coffee-bars. Cheapie behavior and pretended gentleness from the owners. You feel like they do you a favor for staying..Abandoned..it's a pity for such a good located hotel or better said motel..

We did not stay at Liberty 2 because we had already booked at Acqua Marina. However Liberty 2 became our favorite place for Breakfast. Alex and his father and grandmother are just nice people! One day I just mentioned that a few tomatoes and feta cheese would be nice and the father looked at me said " aaha, you want a Greek breakfast! Tomorrow. The next day, we had feta cheese with olive oil, Greek olıves , the best tomatoes I have ever tasted. The father is a Poet, a writer and a good painter. He showed me some of his paintings. Jokingly I said you must be a philosopher. His reply was great. In Greece everybody is a Philosopher! It was sad that we left so soon. One of those places, you want to stay and not leave ! Thank you, EFHARISTO!

I had debated booking this hotel but had contacted the owner to request a room with Double bed and sea view and was promised such and the website looked ok so I figured it would be a decent enough choice.
I couldn't find any reviews for this hotel on here , but some users on the Aegina forum had suggested that the hotel might not be the best choice but by then I'd made my booking and paid a deposit which I thought would be difficult to get back so decided to take the chance.
How naive of me !!
Where to start , on arrival the hotel looked clean and modern enough. However the room we were showed was much smaller than expected, did not have a double bed and looked out to the parking lot / kitchen of a local restaurant.
In fairness we could see the sea over the rooftop!
I asked about the Double promised on booking and the owner Maria at first denied ever saying we could have a double, then said we should push the twins together ,( which was unfeasible because the style of frame wouldn't allow it ), when I said I could produce the email confirmation she admitted a mistake had been made and said she may have a room with double in a day or two if the guests in there didn't decided to stay longer.
The bathroom was tiny and I know Greek bathrooms are traditionally a little step over ledge and are basic but this was dirty and had gaping hols around the taps where the shower had been put in but not replastered around the damaged tiles and pipework, the drain was dirty as was the sink.
The Fridge did work but was splashed with dirt up the outside of door, we didn't use it.
The room smelled very stale and musty.
The aircon didn't work and we had to leave the doors to the small balcony open but because the room looked over the parking lot and kitchen door of a restaurant and as said kitchen door was left open it meant we could hear the plates being stacked and washed etc into the early hours.
The Balcony was dirty and the Awning was all tattered and ragged.
The beds ( twin ) were so uncomfortable that neither my husband nor I slept and both felt we had been hit by a truck our muscles were so stiff the next morning.
We decided to look for another hotel at first light and didn't even wait for breakfast before we went in search of another hotel.
On informing Maria we were uncomfortable and the room was not as we'd agreed so we were leaving she at first said we could have a better room, by then we'd lost faith in the standard of room we would be offered, then when we declined informed me that I owed a nights rate.
Even though I had sent a cheque deposit weeks in advance ( as is the hotel policy before they will confirm any bookings ) and checked with her she had recieved it and with my bank that it had been cashed, which meant I was actually owed a refund, she completely denied ever receiving my deposit and asked me to show a receipt.
I had asked for a receipt on sending the deposit and enclosed a return envelope but it never came so I hoped that an email confirmation from the hotel would suffice , no chance unfortunately !! She was adamant I had not paid a deposit and I couldn't produce a valid receipt so after much debate I refused to pay for the room but had to write off my deposit and put it down to experience. We just wanted to get out of there.
I was even told I was lying about the aircon not working !
Lesson definately learned.
I really would not recommend this hotel to anyone and am kicking myself that I didn't research even deeper than I did and follow the advise on this site as it really ruined the start of our first holiday in Greece. My husband had been ill and we were so looking forward to some much needed R&R but the room was a real disappointment and the blatant dishonesty of the owner left me speechless. Thankfully we found a much nicer room at the Hotel Karyatides for the rest of our stay.

We had a very nice stay at Liberty2 hotel in Agia Marina, Egina.(8 days) Every morning we were served a wonderful breakfast in calm and charming surroundings with a fantastic view overlooking the sea and beach. We har room nr 15 and 16 with balcony with sea/beachview. Lots of good restaurants very close to the hotel, and bakery/supermarket/bars 1 min away. It is an old familyhotel, so charming and so typical Greece! It is so clean, maybe a bit outdated furnitures in the rooms, but the aircondition is super. The sandy beach and the sea was Beautiful. We will for sure be back!!

The best 10 days. I stayed at this hotel with my mom. Needed a good time to relax and this place was EXCELLENT. The owners are so kind and wonderful. The hotel is on a killer spot, we had incredible views from the terrace of the dining area and also from the balcony in our room.
Yes the decor is a bit dated, but the beds are super comfortable the rooms are roomy and internet is great too.
On the islands people are laid-back, so nothing opens early. I wake up early though and need coffee, there was no kettle in the rooms, but when I went downstairs the owner was really kind and made me coffee.
Absolutely loved the place and will go again, we're planning a trip for next year and bringing friends too this time.
