Had a brief stopover here en route to Aran islands, and we wish we had a bit longer. This is a lovely, personal spot that owner Joan obviously takes great pride in. Excellent value, spotlessly clean, very 'homey'. The view from our room Across the bay was lovely, breakfast was good, and it's steps from the village (and Donnelly's bar,... More

We had a nice and pieceful stay during our trip and we enjoyed being on the first floor with an excellent view to the seaside. Our host Joan gave us good recommandations where to go, to eat and what to see. Breakfast was good in the morning, full irish breakfast and fresh fruit for cereals as well. During our stay... More

There is no doubt this is a wonderfully located B&B with views out to Galway Bay and the Barna dock. The bedrooms are all lovely and comfortable with huge quilts, hardly necessary for an Irish summer though. Bathrooms are spacious and clean and modern. The TV in the room is miniscule for those who intend to watch. I do hope... More

Similiar to other review... 45 euro single room... room TV bathroom all very good... the single room no view at all. Its the downstairs and the Breakfast that made this an average stay. Breakfast room v dated and no view. The kitchen where the breakfast was cooked seems to have the view while the lights had to be on in... More

Freeport House Bed & Breakfast is a lovely place to stay if you want to see both calm and nightlife sides of Ireland. It is located near the beach, close to some restaurants and about 10 minutes from Galway by car if you want to spend a night or two in pubs. Beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was... Stayed here for a week in July as a group of 7 with my dad, and husband and 4 kids. "Joan's" Freeport House was my family's favorite place we stayed in Ireland! My family thought I was a genius for having found such a great place just from recommendations on Trip Advisor, since we had never travelled internationally before. (Thanks... More

We stayed in Freeport recently and we were very happy with this place. Our room was clean, the owner very friendly and the breakfest very homey-like indeed. The location was great, very near the main junction yet we found it quiet enough. The view was absolutely stunning and loads of baeaches for those lovely walks. The restaurant nearby O'Grady On... What a great place to stop in Galway! Charming B&B run by an incredibly helpful lady. Sea room views were unbeatable - there was a rainbow 50 feet from our room (no pot of gold however!). Walking distance to the town pub and a great restaurant at Twelve, and just about 10 euro taxi ride into Galway city. Highly recommend!
