I took my skis in for a tuneup and repair of a bubble on the ski. Sarah, the head technician did a marvellous job of fixing the problem and tuning the skis. Kudos to Sarah and her team! Although it can take a while to get through the initial gondola line from the parking lot to the base of the hill, it is absolutely worth it. The conditions are gorgeous!
I stayed at this place with my wife for 5 nights. We are long term travelers. - location: the hotel is a bit far off, you will need to rent a scooter at the hotel to explore the area. Currently, roadworks makes the access a bit difficult but possible - staff: lovely staff that genuinely takes care about you. The receptionist (Sam) was really helpful with transportation advice as well as for any other query. - rooms: rooms are spacious and serviced daily. The AC works well and is silent (any long term traveler will know the value of this). There are blackout curtains and the beds are quite comfy - food: we loved the food at this place. The menu clearly displays the German ownership of the hotel and the portions are European sized but local food is available as well. - surroundings: the pool is clean and very nice, the area is surrounded by resident bungalows to which you have no access. All in all the hotel is value for money, certainly partly due to its location... …
We visited Bohol in May 2019 and although we enjoyed the restaurant and the resort seems to be well maintained it was a disappointment to find out that staying guests doesn’t have the same value as the resident owners in the resort. We have been approached 4 times during our stay by a guard telling the kids in the pool to be quiet because resident owners might be disturbed. The ridiculous part about this was that it always was either at 9:30 am or 6 pm. Both, in my opinion, times that aren’t early nor late. The reply of the staff has always been the same „it’s because the resident owners are all foreign“. As I’ve been working in the hotel industry for over 20 years now this is the very first time I have come across such a rule. The kids, by all means weren’t noisy as kids can be at times. There were no complaints by any other guests or resident owners and that is why I can say with absolute certainty that the noise level was acceptable at the least. Again, my issue is that as a business you can not diminish your guest‘s experience in such a way. It was quite offending to us and when asked if there was a manager around the answer was no, since the owner were on holidays. And apparently no one else who was in charge of operations. In my opinion they shouldn’t be operating as a hotel at all and focus purely on their residences since I also understand that the resident owners might be difficult to deal with but again, noise isn’t anything you can avoid in a hotel, can you? To be honest without that laughable rule we would really love to come back and also recommend the place. Staff were friendly, food was good, and rooms are great for the price value.…
The one star is for the pool. The pool is great the rooms are basic with a bed a small table a small fridge and that's it. Air condition is good and blow direct to your bed. Food in the hotel is very tasty but it needs patience, now the bad side ...location is in the middle of nowhere on a bad dirt road next shop, restaurant around 10 minutes drive....service it starts with the lady show you the room, no explanation about ac,tv,save here your room and turn around and go, a and the room is considered pool view and queen size even without a queensize bed and balcony to backyard not to pool, the room dont get cleaned every day but dont expect if you go out at 8am and come back at 3.30pm that it's done... the rent motorbike for 550 pisco (in town for 400) but the need the money because without any maintenance and cleaning the need to replace them fast. …
It's difficult to reach this relatively new establishment as it's two or three kms of dirt roads, with the last kilometre having potholes. Food however was great, staff good and room had good aircon, a comfy bed and very clean shower, plus a balcony. WiFi good. A loud party from one of the residents was a problem one night, but worse was the German owner who doesn't treat his Filipina staff well. This is also a problem in other hotels in Philippines.
