Super rooms, fantastic bed and very clean. We had a room with a terrace and two lounge beds. The only thing that we missed was a hot water kettle to make our own coffee/tea in the morning. The staff were superb and we would really recommend this hotel.
This hotel's customer service is highly questionable. Booking through an agency, we had vouchers for a room and a car service booked to and from the hotel for the airport. Upon arrival, all was well, the car was waiting for us, we drove to the hotel and arrived for check in. The receptionist took our card details and assured us it was standard procedure and that everything was going to be free - Breakfast, dinner etc. She told us we were not going to be charged with anything and we took her word. The first day, breakfast was alright, we were served, were assured it was included in the price and were presented with no total at the end, however this time, they made us aware that dinner and lunch were to be paid, and again I'm accenting on the fact that they assured us the only thing included this time was breakfast- therefore it should have been free. We thought we probably misunderstood and asked again at least for breakfast - again, they repeated it was free. We were okay with only having breakfast included as it meant we could explore other restaurants in the area. It gets better. Third day, they tell us that actually, the breakfasts weren't free and they won't be giving us anymore, however as a compromise, they would give us the third breakfast for free, but from there on, there would be no more all inclusive breakfast. To say we felt very uncomfortable is an understatement. My friend's daughter, who had booked the trip as a gift for her mother had to start calling the agency and the hotel while she herself was abroad. We stopped going to the restaurant after this. Agency and hotel claimed it was the other's issue. Agency confirmed we should have had free breakfast at least. At the end, during checkout, they presented us with a bill for 3 breakfasts, despite us consuming it under the belief this was included in the price - again something they kept confirming to us until day 3, where they said they wouldn't charge us for the previous days and third one would be free as well. We paid for it, as the agency assured us they will give our money back. This was highly offensive and plain embarrassing. Remember we had vouchers for the transfer? They asked us to check out at 12, even though we had arranged to check out later - they told us at reception we would have to pay - yet again contradicting themselves. Again, we decided to not argue. Asked for confirmation for the transfer, they told us they can call for a taxi. We said no, this is not what we booked and gave them our voucher. They took our voucher. 20 minutes after we got in the car - they had charged us for the car service, despite being given the voucher that was paid for. Are we scamming people now? Getting charged on the card where they told us they wouldn't charge us at all, and it was just procedure. Hygiene wise, I was baffled. Sheets were changed after the 4th day, with one of the sheets being ripped.They also changed only one of the bathrobes out of the two. When I tell you I was confused, it's an understatement. But this is not something I'll be too petty for, even though I could be. No drinkable water, upon asking for some at reception, we were presented with a bill of 7 quid for two small bottles, the only time we got water from them was upon arrival and when they decided to do insanely loud work at 8am that lasted for an eternity. Also cleaners didn't really hoover, only used a mop which was honestly weird as dirt stayed, it was just wet, while the carpet had crumbs that were never removed. And also, they took their time coming as we ended up being in the room in the late afternoon when they did. Room service was non existent, we tried ordering on the first night, they hung up after asking us to wait, had to go down to reception to order and they gave us a takeaway menu from a restaurant instead. Every complaint we had on reception response was "talk to the agency". …
Very nice hotel with amazing atmosphere, clean and very good food😊😍 Almendra lovely shop 😍 with beautiful hand made clothes and bags. There weren’t too many people, peaceful and nice design😁 rooms very clean and fridge always full of good drinks 🍸
3minute walk from Talamanca beach and it’s great range of cafes and restaurants, the OD Talamanca is a stylish modern hotel. Staff were so helpful and arranged for a hire car to be dropped and collected from our hotel at no additional cost. On hearing we were heading to the beach they’d supply us beach towels and when the speaker in our room wasn’t working they replaced it immediately. Taxis from the hotel were never more than a 5min wait. The safety measures due to Covid were reassuring and non-evasive. Great pool area with various levels and a well stocked bar. The room was spacious and modern - although only one criticism; the black-out blinds didn’t reach fully around the window.
The hotel is in one of the best areas on the island. Right by the beautiful beach of Talamanca and 20 mins walk to the old town. The perfect position. The lobby is a little dated in my opinion, rooms clean and modern. Nothing particularly to fault with this hotel, Just a little pricey for what you get.
