My good friend and I are single and in our late 20’s, and decided after Covid and current state of the world to go BIG end of summer as it’s been a while since we really traveled. After our brief stay in Barcelona, we arrived to Mallorca for the remainder of our trip and this hotel was everything we could have asked for. We lucked out and somehow managed to get the highest room overlooking the pool and sea! The pool was gorgeous, we swam in the sea one day, and the staff was always great. To give context, My friend and I wanted to stay somewhere relaxing where we could appreciate the beauty and relaxation, a quasi paradise when we weren’t visiting Sóller, Palma, and went clubbing in Magaluf to name a few. We had a different approach to this vacation than maybe those who wanted to strictly stay at the hotel for the most part. However despite us in-and-out for half of almost every day, the hotel was always great calling us taxis and providing room service. One evening back from our excursions there even happened to be a wedding ceremony/dinner with two grooms at the hotel which we enjoyed watching from a distance- we love allyship. During our stay, never saw any children (a good thing) but we did acknowledge why this hotel might be better for couples due to the romantic ambiance. The only “complaint” was breakfast seemed pricy and was alright but the trade off was it was buffet style and it was convenient to not have to worry about going out somewhere to eat. Lunch and dinner was delicious, it’s been two days and I still am missing the food.

5* rated hotel, overall great but some disappointing aspects too, a leak in the ceiling had not been repaired properly, the shutter clasp was broken, the tap water was incredibly hard so had stained all the marble and the shower cubicle and wall tiles very badly, the roll top bath looked plastic and was not very white, the pillows were the very worst quality imaginable, 5 star so only 5 coat hangers available I guess, the half board deal evening meal was disappointing, only two options as a starter only two options as a main and only one dessert, venue an absolute delight had kept the magnificent charm of the 30’s pool area fantastic with direct access to the sea the infinity pool spectacular but plenty of mosaic tiles also missing at the edges. Great pool towels and service bar service was cool poolside a lovely spa, terrible parking facilities. Nice staff, could do better, amazing breakfast, though over priced more or less did meet my expectations.

We were unable to experience the full arrange of services given the time of year. Restaurants were being refreshed and the spa was inoperable due to COVID. That being said our stay was only slightly impeded. The room was in the main building and its main feature was a large terrace on which to lounge and enjoy the sea views. The pool looked inviting but as the temperature was chilly we did not use it. Breakfast was excellent with myriad pastries both savoury and sweet. Fresh squeezed juices were available. The hot choices were varied with different breads on offer. The only drawback was the room which might have been a school dining hall. Dinner, in the same hall, was very good. The main reception area, which includes the bar, requires a good redecoration. Colours are tired and the furniture does not match. Outside on the terrace drinks and snacks may be taken but again the weather needs to be good to entice one to sit there. Overall this hotel needs to judged in more favourable conditions, notably weather. It has the ingredients for a top rating but requires some simple upgrades

We chose this resort to celebrate our anniversary. Very much looking for a romantic getaway. As I write this in August while we are still here , there are multiple children clearly under the age of 12 who are doing flips in the pool, getting on each other’s shoulders and splashing about. So the “rule” about no children being allowed to stay at the property in the summer is not only false, but these kids are obnoxious. The staff are oblivious to saying anything. Also, we had advised that we were celebrating and the hotel has made no acknowledgement of it which is surprising. Also one of the few hotels that doesn’t include breakfast even as a upgrade for a titanium lifetime elite member. Pool is gorgeous, room is lovely (although shower floods the room every day due to poor design), sea is amazing….but if you think you are getting away from children, you are not. They are clearly staying here (has been occurring multiple days while we have been here) and their behavior is not enforced to be quiet without splashing. Pool lunch food is ok, lunch/dinner food at the terrace is expensive and tasteless - would not suggest eating here. I would also suggest staying in the natura building with the plunge pools as our room is lovely, but the rooms in the main building have very small windows and the ocean view is very small due to the size of the windows. I’ll update if anything changes…if I could post video of what is occurring without breaking privacy rules, the management of this hotel should be appalled.

The worst value for money experience of all time. I have rated many hotels on Trip Adviser and this is the worst review I’ve given. The hotel building and pool is beautiful but that is where it ends. The room (we had a Sea facing suite) was extremely poorly and cheaply laid out. Bedroom was small and you had to move an arm chair and slide two wardrobe doors along the floor to open a drawer. It felt like IKEA meets premier inn. Dinner was so awful manager offered a complimentary dinner. Breakfast was 2 star - ran out of fruit on 2 days of our 5 day trip and mould on croissant on one day. Dirty pool towels left around pool until c9.00am and most pool chairs reserved by 9.30am. Service was average. I complained about the facilities, food and service before I left and got 10% off my room rate. Still felt I was robbed. You can do hugely better than this hotel. Don’t waste your money.

Please allow us to inform you that we have made a detailed investigation and we can assure you that we prepare our fresh pastries daily and we do not re-use them. We believe you were referring to the darker parts that some pastries may have due to the oven trays. As well, we can assure you that every day we serve a minimum of 3 different sliced fresh fruit and 3 types whole fruits. Perhaps the fruit was being replenishing when you wanted to have some from the buffet, anyhow that replenishing process is quick and takes only a couple of minutes. We wish you would have inform us, while you were still in the hotel, that you were not satisfy with the solutions offered by our General Manager so we could have taken additional measures. Nevertheless, we regret not having fulfilled your expectations. We have shared your comments with our Heads of Department to review your experience at our hotel and improve our service. Seated on the expansive terrace under the tower of the hotel at 9.30 am this extravaganza of 10 courses began. I am not going to ruin the surprise but a breakfast that includes the following ingredients (prawns, majorca sausage, edible flowers, mochi, blackberries, ensaimada, cold fresh juices, prawns and cava) needs to be tried by all. Special mention to Juan who guides you through the experience. Amazing!

When you drive into the property it feels like a palace but it ends there! While the building and location are great, immediately when entering the building it feels worn down and old. Welcome and service is 3 stars max. All in all very far from what you expect from a 5 star hotel except for the price !

I held a business seminar at the Hospes Maricel Hotel in April 2022 and it was amazing. The event manager of the hotel who was responsible for my event, Andrea Monfort, was so professional, kind, empathic and great to work with. It was just perfect! She really understood what I wanted and what the needs for my event were and put additional details to it. Everything was perfectly organised and implemented and the event was a great success and my clients really loved it and will come back to the hotel. The entire stuff did a great job. The atmosphere of the hotel and seminar rooms and lunches is just unique. Also the rooms. I will come back for sure and have more events held there. Thank you Andrea, you really were amazing and part of my success!

This is supposed to be a 5 Star Hotel. Came here after watch a movie made here, and it looked awesome, however, movies are very deceptive. we had booked a special room with a pool, but on arrival, we were told that we had been given a double free upgrade, what a joke. The room offered was a simple, no frills room with a sea view, nothing more. We were told we could look at our booked room, but it was not in the main in the main complex, but across the road, where all restaurants and bars were in the main building, so reluctantly we remained in the main building. For check-in, we were shown outside , offered drinks, (nice touch) whilst the check-in person returned inside. However, outside there was a private event going on which felt quite uncomfortable. I enquired about this, and apparently, the hotel does this on a regular basis (every day of our stay), so the hotel is not just for hotel guests, again, NOT 5 Star. After waiting 20 minutes (no joke, i timed it) for the check-in person to return, I went inside to set what the hold-up was. No hold-up, he thought we would be happy sitting outside - WRONG. During check-in, we learned that the pool bar and the lounge & cocktail bar was closed. Additionally, the only restaurant on site had a very very limited selection, as such, we never ate there. At check-in, you present your credit card, and they block the hotel fee PLUS extras that just are not advertised anywhere - parking (14 Euros/night, taxes for each day and a little extra for incidentals). Our room, as said, was basic, nothing at all like seen in the official Maricel web-site, although the view was quite nice. In the room, you could see that the hotel is getting very tired. Most seals in the bathroom are dark and molding, there are facilities to just wash your hair (i.e. hand held shower), one of the bathroom doors had been completely removed. There was some dripping sealant on the bathroom mirror, paint around doors had peeled off or was cracked, and the bath itself was certainly not luxurious. The TV has again limted channels, perfect for Spanish people, but not so good for English speaking, as we could only find 5 channels in English (3 were news channels). Breakfast was okay, but again limited, some hot food and cold meats and breads available. Be warned if you ask for hot water (my wife brings her own coffee), it usually arrive luke warm. We were told on our second day that the breakfast would be served in the other site, across the road, and this was certainly not easy to find. Our feeling of the hotel was that all guests were "upgraded" to the main building, so less work for the staff, and there was probably some renovations due to begin, hence the change of breakfast location. On the 3rd day of our 4-night stay we decided to check-out. Now, we should get back at least 1 night parking, 1 days taxes, and a full return of the incidentals. After over 4 weeks and many many telephone calls, we are still waiting, I feel we were robbed, and getting money back from this hotel seems impossible. We did challenge them on having the last night stay money returned, but were told that the hotel policy for cancellations did not allow this. To be honest, I didn't see that anywhere, but could have been in the check-in documentation. In summary - NOT a 5 Star hotel, and many things advertised on their web-site were not available - so surely, some form of compensation would be a fair gesture, as well as returning of the mentioned earlier money - apparently not with the Maricel. for the price of this hotel - look elsewhere.

We are sorry that on low season the Pool Bar is closed due to the weather conditions, nevertheless we do serve on request food & beverage in this area. I would like to confirm that our main lounge & cocktail bar is open 365 days per year. Please be informed that you have received the information about the early departure policy with the confirmation of your reservation, and in the same channel where you have made the reservation we informed as well the type of cards that the hotel accepts and that we reserve the right to temporarily hold an amount prior to arrival, nevertheless we are doing it once the guest is in the hotel, as it was your case. In regards of your comment about the parking charges, we would like to inform you that, as you may see in your invoice, you were not charged for the parking on the night that you didn´t stayed in the hotel. If you allow me, I would like to personally take care of your future reservations with us at Hospes Maricel & Spa or any other Hospes properties from Spain. The hotel is a beautiful building right on the beach and a short taxi ride from the airport. We had a friendly welcome and cold drinks while waiting for our room Slightly disappointed when we had to go to the other building but the room was really lovely. Separate shower and toilet, big bed and sofa/tv area. Had a balcony with a small pool. Bit too cold yet to try it out but no doubt in the height of summer it would be lovely to have a dip The downside to the room was we could hear a lot from the room next door, and vice versa. The wardrobes made a really loud noise too. We didn't eat at the hotel as thought it was expensive, but plenty of places close by. Water and sweets/treats left each day, and a turn down service. Great selection of toiletries and soft towels. Would go back for sure, but would ask for a room in the main building.
