My husband and I decided on this property based on the photographs and reviews so were quite shocked to discover certain aspects were well below what you would expect for a 4* rated property. The room was adequate, located in the main Finca but the upgrade room which we originally opted for was located in the other building some 20 minutes walk from the main building. The room was really unacceptable with old furniture and nothing like the pictures advertised on their website at all. It was basic and very uninspiring as was the breakfast area downstairs. We decided to stay in our original room which was a very good idea because the other building was not as nice as the Finca itself and much too far from the main facilities. The main reason for my bad score of this Finca is the quality of the breakfast. Never in my life have I seen a breakfast presented in this way at a hotel of this rating. The fruit had seen many better days and I can’t even begin to imagine how you make scrambled egg like that! The plate on our table was dirty and I heard several guests complaining about dirty crockery. Overall, I would say this property has great potential and was probably a beautiful place to stay at one time but now they need to renovate certain things, invest in new sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool and stop serving old food for breakfast.…
Very good service! Nice food and a fantastic spa area. We can recommend this trip. Good prices and quality, nice view at the evening. The pool area is nice for kids and the spa area s nice for the parents
This finca is old fashioned but lovely in a beautiful setting out in the Mallorcan countryside. Extensive grounds with two pools about 10-15min walk apart. The pool at the main house is nice but not enough sun beds although there is space for more! We arrived for the night, my husbands birthday treat but at no point from 3pm-6pm could we enjoy sitting by the pool which was disappointing and the first time this has happened in the many Finca’s & boutique hotels we have visited on the island. Our room was clean but dated needed some TLC. The shower was awful absolutely no way I could have washed my hair water pressure was no existent!! Barely enough to was with…. No idea how long it would take to fill a bath! There was a small kitchen in the room which was ok but no kettle. The air conditioning was excellent. We ate in the restaurant & it was fabulous food was amazing & service excellent. This finca is quite remote no restaurants or shops within walking distance so you definitely need a car or bike to enjoy the area. I could see this place begin great for a stop over on a cycling holiday as long as you don’t need to wash your hair!…
Stayed here for 4 nights this week with two friends and had a fabulously relaxing time! Communications with the hotel prior to our stay were excellent (including arranging our airport transfer). The hotel itself provides a tranquil and beautiful setting, ideal if you are looking for some peace and quiet, but it is fairly remote if you do not have a car (nothing really within walking distance – so if you need the shops for anything or want to dine at a restaurant, which we did on 3 of our nights, then you need a cab, and, there is only one cab driver servicing the whole area! We did walk to the local caves – Coves de Campanet, which were only about 20 mins away and well worth the visit, and we made sure that the restaurants we visited were in different areas in order to see a little bit more of our surroundings, but apart from that this is definitely a place to just chill. All the staff are friendly, polite and helpful (although there is sometimes a little bit of a wait if you are ordering drinks by the pool, as the bar is not always manned, so you need to dial reception for somebody to attend, and, on one occasion, our order just did not seem to arrive …. But, you are on holiday, so no rush!). Breakfast offers up a good selection of cold items (from meats to fish, cheeses to cereals, fruit, yogurts, seeds, breads, pastries, preserves, juices ) plus there is one hot container which has scrambled egg, bacon and a vegetable and a hot drinks machine. During the day you can have lunch at the restaurant or have items by the pool (the salads and the chips were lovely) grab yourself a jug of sangria and it’s more than pleasant. We had one evening meal at the restaurant and it was delicious, well presented and good value. The pool by the spa is clean, perfect temperature and has water jets and jacuzzi – plus a children’s pool and there is the indoor pool and spa area too. Finding a sun lounger was never an issue and sun beds and parasols available too. There was another pool, but it was about 10 minute walk away at the very other end of the complex so, although we wandered down to have a look, we did not actually use it. We stayed in a family apartment - this consisted of a veranda, living/dining room/kitchenette (with TV providing a couple of English channels), bathroom and two bedrooms. This provided comfortable accommodation and was very clean and the air conditioning was excellent – there were a few minor issues: the shower had very low water pressure and also getting the correct temperature using the controls took quite a time; the toilet took ages to refill, so if one person used it you had to wait quite a while before it could be flushed again; there was only one mirror in the whole apartment (over the sink in the bathroom) so when three females are trying to get ready (dressed, makeup, drying hair) to go out it does take quite a while as you need to take it in turns! - there really needs to be a mirror in each bedroom (preferably a full length one) even if they stuck it on the back of the inside of the wardrobe door; there was no iron/ironing board in the apartment (you had to ask reception and hope that one became available in time); there were only 2 sun loungers (when the apartment sleeps 4); a kettle would be handy (we did not cook in the apartment but in the mornings we did make a hot water drink and, without a kettle we had to boil water in a saucepan which did not have a lip so a little difficult to pour). But, these were only minor issues and certainly did not detract from the great break that we had.…
Booked as a special treat for a big birthday, Monnabar Nou provides a superb setting in northern Mallorca. Set in extensive grounds it is a peaceful place (unless you had some noisy kids and inattentive parents in tow). Despite its grandeur it needs some TLC and up its game in the presentation and content of breakfast if it is to justify its 4* territory. Midday snacks and evening meal was excellent. The staff were pleasant individually but responsiveness was lacking for example an evening request for a drink not delivered after 30 minute wait and request to access spa needed to be repeated. To enjoy what Monnabar delivers you need lashings of patience and manyana
This hotel was in an agricultural setting. The hotel had attractive antique furnishings. Lovely setting with delightful pool. The food at the hotel’s restaurant was delicious! They had white peacocks too. Fun!
We stayed one night on on our cycling trip, and would have loved to stay longer..... next time! This hotel is in a rural setting with lovely grounds and a large pool and poolside lounging area. The friendly staff provided us with excellent service, and the restaurant served delicious dinner items grown and raised on their grounds.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the view from the restaurant is amazing any time of the day. The food here was great and varied everyday for dinner. It was perfect place for a cycling trip to do day rides.
Stayed there as part of a Trek Cycling trip and it was a ideal location to start riding with many famous Majorcan climbs nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Water pressure on the second floor room in the main building wasn't great though.
We very much enjoyed our two nights stay at this hotel as part of a cycling holiday. It is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff giving just the right amount of service. The restaurant has an excellent menu, we had dinner on both nights of our stay and very much enjoyed the food. Our room was comfortable, relaxing and it is so quiet at night because it is in the countryside. I would recommend a stay at this hotel.
