Miri and Jens have created something that has to be experienced to be believed. She creates her food through and with her artistic talent encompassing cross cultural and cross country influences. A must for all foodies whether vegan vegetarian or committed meat and fish eaters. Perfect for kids too. Animals all around. Also perfect for a romantic evening.

One thousand stars for: - amazing, delicious food with local and seasonal ingredients, a new menu every day - wonderful, warm, authentic, friendly owners and staff - a beautiful location, sitting quietly on the countryside, a vast property, beautifully decorated. You walk up to the hotel &restaurant and instantly feel very comfortable and welcome. - of course, the cute pets! - the "it" that I cannot describe. Every inch of the property, the hotel, the restaurant, the menu, the food, the atmosphere oozes Miriam and Jens' love and passion for this project. This place is nothing short of magnificent and I would highly recommend going here at least once (or every day of your stay, really).

Lovely location, well appointed suite. Pool towels, bath robes, refreshments, insect repellent machines all available at extra cost. Breakfast also available at extra cost and nicely presented and served. Mattresses in our suite rock solid. I loved mine as I have a back issue but my wife found hers uncomfortable - and I believe many would. Venue caters mainly for German clients to the extent that there is no room information in English, there is a small communal sitting room containing plenty of official information in most languages. Hosts speak good English but are reluctant to make any recommendations about local restaurants. You will need a car as there are no facilities nearby. Hosts do not like guests consuming non Finca-purchased refreshments in any communal areas where they provide a service. Suite lighting was dim. Described as having 'air conditioning' but NOT mentioned anywhere by the Finca or Expedia that THE GUEST CANNOT CONTROL TIMES OF OPERATION OR TEMPERATURE. The system is archaic and controlled by the hosts. Hosts will give a rationale for this fact but bottom line is IF YOU WANT EFFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONING ON YOUR TERMS avoid this venue. The hosts are aware of this issue but, I think, they are powerless to rectify it as (I was told) they don't own the property. Neither were they particularly empathetic, although we were given a mosquito machine free of charge and then free (I'm assuming) bath robes turned up a day later (we didn't use them as the room was too warm for us anyway). Had we known the FULL facts about the aircon, I would never have booked this place. I feel overcharged and misled through omission. For these reasons I cannot recommend it to anyone else which is a shame because it has potential to be great. I booked through Expedia and will complain to them about the lack of full facts about the Aircon. I will recommend three eateries in Inca: S'Angel, Suro, and C'an Am Amer. There is a public tennis court in Selva but the opening hours seem to be made up from day to day so we never got to use it.

Over expedia clients have two possibilities: they can book Son Olive with and without breakfast. This clients booked without breakfast. The management from Son Olive contacted also the clients a few days before arriving to inform them that they booked without breakfast and we want to know if this is their really choise. We got answer: "yes, we don`t like to get breakfast daily . If we want we let you know." So it is normal that clients have to pay for the breakfast if they want it on one of their staying days. This clients booked a junior suite and they got without an upgrade price for free the biggest suite we have. Bath robs in junior suites and suite are always for free of charge. First day we asked rhis clients if they want bath robes. They refused, but we put them into the suite in case they will change their mind. It is really normal that when we offer drinking and food service in the public area of our hotel ( on restaurant terrace and pool area) that clients cannot bring their own food and drinks to this places. I don`t know any restaurant or bar which accept that clients bring their own bottles and food into their service area. These clients have had their own private terrace and here we have no problem if clients drink and eat there their private drinks and food. When clients arrive from abroad we give them very detailled informations in english, german or spanish language what ever they want to know. We can not recommand restaurants because everbody has his own mind what is good or bad. We can only tell names of restaurants nearby. About room light: All traditional mallorquin Fincas have small windows. If clients need more light in the room they should book a modern styled hotel and not a traditional house on landscape. Air condition: is working when it is usefull and clients can put it on or off. Air conditions is not usefull and makes no sense if outside temperature is under 18 grads. For an extra service we charge only a very little amount to cover only the cost for these extras.

We stayed here for 7 nights after being on the island for 7nights already. First I would like to say that the Finca Hotel Son Olive was extremely clean and very efficiently run BUT I feel that the amount that we paid for a room was massively out of balance with what we actually got! To start with the hotel only run the air conditioning from they say 4pm to 11pm but we often arrived back early evening (630ish) and were the only ones there and the air conditioning unit wasn't turned on. This meant that by 1 in the morning the room was like an oven. The managements answer to this was to open all the windows. (Which we did but didn't work, but did let in all the bugs, which meant I was bitten alive) After a third night of no sleep due to the heat I asked the management if there is anything they could do (ideally turn the air conditioning on longer) but settled for a fan, which the management then made a massive point about how they had had to go all the way to town to buy a new one for me! This made me feel very uncomfortable. The beds were rock hard so made sleeping on them very hard. The management would let them selves into our room at points in the day, often to turn on the air conditioning but often without knocking at at several points it was embarrassing as I was partly dressed. This made me feel my room wasn't my own space. The over all feel made me feel like an unwelcome house guest rather than a paying guest and left me feeling a little unwelcome in what could be a lovely hotel.

All our clients are very welcome here and we give our best to offer a very good service to all our clients. We feel very sorry that these clients have other opinion. We also have to inform the readers that this clients booked only a doble room standard ( without terrace and in the lowest categorie). On day of arrival they loved to take an upgrade of our biggest Suite royal with terrace, nearly 40 qm, for very very less money. They got it for nearly same price as the room standard . We can`t understand that this clients wrote price would be out of balance?? It is defently wrong that we go into clients room if they are inside without knocking. The house keeping girl always knock at the door, once, twice. If there is no answer she opens slowly and call in the room: hello? Normally we used to go second time into the rooms in the afternoons to start the air condition in the room. We use to do this as a service when clients coming home from sea or trip they will come into a cool and comfortable room . Of course before we go inside we also knock once and a second time, waiting for an answer. If there is no answer in any way we slowly open a bit and call : Hello? This happen in all other hotels in same way. Especially those guests after calling "Hello?" I could realize from afar a voice from the farthest corner of the room . The front door was only open a gap and the Lady was coming to me in her bathrobe ( not nacked and not in a embarrassing situation). Nevertheless I apologized me and the lady told me that she was in the bathroom for a shower and hasn`t heart me knocking. On another day when I knocked and got no answer I noticed that the front door was not even locked and so everybody else would have been able to go in. On that afternoon when I was knocking outside I wanted to bring the fan which was required from the guest. This was another kind of service from Son Olive that clients should feel more comfortable. The clients never informed us that they do not want our service in the afternoons. Even they could lock the front door from inside and in that moment nobody can open from outside with or without key. About air condition: in that season the machine is running mainly until midnight, depend on outside temperature. After midnight the outside temparature is around 20 Grad. Best climate to sleep by open window or/and door with fresh wind too (with closed wooden shutters if clients want to feel more save) . We are living here since 7 years, so we give our experiences as a recommand to our guests. We recommand to buy a stick against the moscitos ( our service : we give the stick for free and the refill for same price as in supermarket). If clients follow our recommands they have a comfortable night. If clients ignore our recommands they are to blame and it is unfair then to comment negatively on the internet. About hard beds: this is a subjective opinion. A few months ago other clients in same room with same mattresses called them extremely soft and saggy. We feel very sad that these clients won`t give us any informations about their negative feelings in the running time of their holyday. It seems to be much more easier to give bad recommands afterwards in internet. At the end they have to live with their negative memories without giving us a chance to change it in time.

My normal idea of a break is to find somewhere with loads to do and see. Though after a stressful time over the last few months, all my wife and I wanted was to chill out, do nothing and relax. We couldn't have picked a better spot, unfortunately we only had 3 days / 4 nights. We lay by the pool and read and slept. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Birds chirping, cocks crowing, goat bells ting a linging. Nirvana. Jutta couldn't have been more helpful. However a car is required because of the isolation. It's a couple of miles from the small town of Inca, which has some lovely shops and restaurants.
