Å ilo is a nice little village where you could take a dip in the sea after a day exploring Krk. There is not much to do in the town itself, except for the coastline.
The location of this apartment was fine. The apartment is part of a large double house that is split into multiple units. It is located at the end of a dead end street, and in front of the door there is more than enough parking space. You are minutes from the sea without having to make a whole climb back to the apartment. And last but not least, there is a swimming pool at the complex that is well maintained.
Although we arrived earlier, we were allowed to enter the apartment.
But still it reminded us a bit of a Center Parcs in Normandy that we visited 10+ years ago.
When we entered the apartment, the air conditioning was unfortunately not (yet) on, so it was very hot inside the apartment. Despite the windows being open, it smelled a bit musty. The fridge was also not (yet) on, it was only switched on when the hostess let us in.
The bathroom was small, the toilet was literally crammed between the shower cubicle and the wall.
In the apartment there were hardly any places to dry your towels, so you had to do this on the terrace.
Hygiene-wise it was okay, but no more (the brush and the mop left more dirt than to take away...).
The beds didn't exactly look clean, and creaked when you lay down in them. Here too you could find mosquitoes beaten to death on all walls (which were abundant).

First stop of this trip to Croatia and we stop at Villa Romana and Tea.
It is a family-run property and they also speak English.
In the house there is no soap for dishes, sponges and dressings. There was no welcome kit (we expected to find those mini sizes but it was not so)
Fortunately nearby there is a market that although expensive allowed us to buy a hand soap and other basic products.
In the house there was a plate with those mosquito balls, there were pans and plates, and towels.
There was also a phone and air conditioner.
I would have liked to find an extra pillow in the bed and the sheet. But then I realized they don't really use sheets here.
I appreciated the dark ones that allowed me to sleep a little more avoiding the there and the sun.
We still had a good time. Council
