The owners have welcomed us in a very friendly way, taking into account our wish of fresh fruit for breakfast. The room was relatively small but clean. Somewhat noisy at street side because of the traffic. Free closed parking, which we appreciated.

The friendly hosts Patric and Marie do all they can to make you feel welcome at their humble guest house. If you're looking for a friendly place to sleep after a full day sightseeing then this is a good choice. The rooms are small and basic and they don't have tea/coffee-making facilities or a modern bathroom, but the ample bread... More

After a long day of train and auto travel from Cheshire, UK, the Auberge de la Renaissance was perfectly positioned, an hour south of Calais, right on the D940 highway, for a first night in France for me and my wife. Our genial hosts showed us our room (which was about 12 feet by 12 feet) and we found it... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The restaurant was not open, so although the owner greeted us at the front door, from then on, when we entered our rooms, we had to do so via the fire escape at the side of the building. At the top of the fire escape was a large vase full to the top of... More

I wasn't expecting much from this place but tea & coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice. I also didn't like the style of beds - bunk beds above a double bed, like a child's bedroom. I'm only 5ft 2ins but still managed to bang my head on it twice. Also when sitting on the toilet, my... Stayed here en-route to Calais after visiting Paris for a long weekend.Had a little difficulty in finding it despite our driver's Sat Nav,but once there it was great. We had a great welcome from Patric and Mari when we arrived, they speak little English and our French wasn't much better, despite this we got on very well. We stayed up in... More

Excellent host and hostess, who were so helpful. Room was small and basic, but remember this is an auberge, not a hotel, so you will not get some comforts you might expect in a hotel. Saying that, we had a super night's sleep, in a cool room, with little or no traffic noise. We were unable to have an evening... More

Very warm welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was fantastic. Do not know how the table supported the weight of food. And great value for money. The room was a little small but we only wanted a bed for the night so no problem.

The owner and his wife, who only spoke French were very welcoming and my room though small was very clean an extremely quite as it was at the back of the building. I asked where I could eat and was told that there was nowhere near open that they could recommend, it was a Sunday. However though they were not... More

Stayed one night and had an "economique" room. Very small with a toilet in one corner and shower but not enclosed so if you are going there take someone you know well! At 38euros a night plus 7 euros for breakfast it was not too bad. What really made it was the friendliness of the owner and his wife who... More
