Me and my husband called in for breakfast Sunday morning, as it was my 60th birthday and wanted to do some thing different (non residents). Well, it was fabulous!! From start to finish, the service was brilliant, the food was pipng hot & freshly cooked, & huge portions. The surroundings are lovely too, nice view from our table of the sea, all at a very reasonable price! We will definately be back and would highly recommend!

Went to funeral of a dear lady in February 2020, lovely service. Went to Cliff Hotel for the wake, oh dear it was the worst wake I have every been to. The cup of tea I had when I arrived was the worst I have every had, it did not look like tea and certainly did not taste like tea. When I spoke to others they all agreed it was dreadful.0 out of 10 I thought never mind the food will be better but oh no it wasnt just as bad The long table was laid out nicely, but the sandwich fillings were not appropriate for a wake, with many elderly people, who like and need plain sandwiches. The fillings were smoked salmon with cream cheese, prawns in sauce, cheese and pickle, and ham with mustard. There was no signs to say what was in them and I bit into a ham one and had to spit it out as I hate mustard. However what was even worse was the plates of sandwiches were not separate fillings but mixed. This should never happen, as people who are allergic to one of these could get a contaminated sandwich which has touched another, they could get very ill from this, and it is very dangerous. I have never been to a function and this has happened before. Health and hygienie is not correct here. What ever were you thinking of by mixing them, not on at all. Everyone I spoke to agreed with me. Then there were spicy wedges why not plain chips, one dish of mayo and one of ketchup. Chicken gougons and pizzas, which I found out later they had to pay 50p per person extra. Well the cakes were disgraceful, plain lemon, fruit with hardly any fruit in them and lastly a plain cake with a blob of jam on it. they were cheap slabs of cake. All for £13.95 per head plus 50p per head for pizza and then £150 for the room for 5 hours, talk about ripping you off for a wake. I have been to several later and they have been very good and cheaper than this. You then had the bar open and the prices that were been charged was disgusting. In all a total rip off for a grieving family on a very hard and stressful day. I did not think it was a good spread of food or drinks and I did not see it topped up as my friend told me it should have been. Pier Hotel Gorleston and Acle Bridge do a very good wake and lower costs. I would never go to the Cliff Hotel again for a meal or wake or stay and certainly i would not recommend it to anyone quite the opposite. It spoilt the funeral of a lovely lady

Perfect cocktails made by Aaron, waited on by a very polite and friendly Diogo. Both went above and beyond 5*. Wide variety of drinks available, beautiful view. Would highly recommend the espresso martini. Best in town!

I was in on official business and it was my first time in the hotel despite traveling down many times and staying several other hotels. It was nice and decent with very warm hospitality. The room was also quite spacious and of Good standard. The food was great and reasonably priced great price. Lovely place.
