The location is really convenient as it's ten minutes from Ueno and two minutes from Inaricho. The room and bathroom are spotless and comfortable, and they provide pjs, shaving stuff, slippers etc. The room is absolutely tiny and there was a weird smell from the bathroom, but it really was spotless so we figured it was something from the pipes.... Visited Tokyo for a few days and booked into MyStays in Ueno. We had an overnight flight so were exhausted when we arrived at the hotel after 6am. We fully understood it was too early to check in and left our bags and were told to check in at 3pm. We were trying to sightsee but after a few hours... More

At the reception it was easy to communicate and helpful serviced from the receptor but the room is quite little bit too small for 2 people hotel's bed is too small it seem like 1 person room compare with there cost it quite the high standard in japan. It took just 5 minutes walk from Inaricho and about 15 minutes... More

The location is really nice. Even though it's published as near to Ueno station (which is true), Inaricho station (Ginza line) is just a block away. The room had everything needed (including toiletries and pajamas) and everything was clean. The staff was helpful and spoke a bit English. The room was tiny (normal for Japan) but comfortable for a single... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
