This hotel is fantastic for solo travelers. The rooms are small but very affordable, 20min away from the Asakusa temple (Senso-ji) and 10-15min from the JR and subway stations. Kind and helpful staff. Would stay there again!

I stayed in a private room with a high bed (15 nights), worked for me, but if climbing a ladder poses a problem, consider a different-style room. The room itself was comfortable enough, and also had a mini-fridge, which was a nice bonus. The setup...More

We had a good stay at Juyoh. The rooms are small but decent. There are shared toilets and sinks on each floor, and shared (but private) showers on a few floors. There's a nice little lounge on the ground floor if you want to relax...More

This place is ideal if you want a place to crash after a long day exploring. However the hotel itself is undergoing maintenance and so is covered in scaffolding meaning I walked past it a few times trying to find it. It also meant that...More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
