    we were unsure what to expect in our first family experience with a ryokan but everything was great, very friendly owners, nice sized room (we slept 4 on 3 futons/mats). we loved the neighborhood, cool shops and very close to the C-line metro

    This Ryokan is situated in a really nice and friendly area, 5 minutes walk from the subway and 15 minutes from the Ueno park. And on their website they even put a little video to show how to find the hotel ! The little market...More

    You can walk there from Nippori station. Actually most of the way is via pedestrian-only street, so if you don't carry too much luggage, it's worth walking anyway. Otherwise take a taxi (we took one from Tokyo station).

    Hi Julio. The JR line is just the basic city train line like we use here in Australia. Most of it is above ground, but some is underground like a Subway. Seriously, Google Maps really helps you in Japan. As it tells you... More
