The room was very clean and full of necessary amenities. Well- trained staff members. The standard room with Queen size bed is quite packed for family of 3 but should be OK for couple or solo traveler.

For those who want to stay in the center of it all - this is the hotel - 5 mins walk from Ueno main station in the heart of Tokyo. Akihabara shopping district is a 10 min (2400 yen) taxi ride away. There's a street food lane not far away. Hotel is expensive for what you get. Overall it's good...

New and very clean. Convenient location just across the street from the Ueno station. Lots of eateries in the neighborhood. Rooms spacious, especially Moderate rooms for single occupancy, compared to most hotels in Tokyo. Design business hotel.

Stayed here two nights in September. Our room was a twin, it was a bit small but that didn't bother us - it was clean. The location is good for train links to the rest of Tokyo, the surrounding area isn't particularly lovely but the nearby park is rather pleasant. Breakfast provided was a curious mix of Japanese and a...

I stayed here for 2 nights. This is probably the best business hotel I had every stayed in Tokyo. The room is clean and space is bigger than I expected. Breakfast is pretty good. Location is great, just few minutes walk distance from train station. And shopping hot spots are also few minutes walk distance. I will visit here again...

this is my 1st time to stay in Ueno area. i found this area is good to stay as there are a lot of different things nearby. there are shops, resturants, street market, metro station, etc. and they are high priced. it made me feel closer to normal tokyo citizen lives instead of being tourist. the hotel itself, to be...

Though situated right near Ueno Station (a positive) and very clean (another positive), the room was tiny even by Japanese standards (a negative). More important, there were NO drawers or cabinets for clothes and what-nots, only a minuscule closet. Further, counter space was extremely limited. In short, plan to work out of your suitcase (and make sure it's a small...

We stayed here early July. I chose this location because of the proximity to several of the train lines (JR Yamamote sen, subway, shinkansen and train to Narita airport). It is indeed across from Ueno train station (JR) and next door to exits 1 and 2 of the Gina subway line. It is about 2 blocks to the Keisei line...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
