We stayed here early July. I chose this location because of the proximity to several of the train lines (JR Yamamote sen, subway, shinkansen and train to Narita airport). It is indeed across from Ueno train station (JR) and next door to exits 1 and 2 of the Gina subway line. It is about 2 blocks to the Keisei line... More

I have been in this hotel during July 2016. The hotel is located just in front of UENO station where you can very easily access both to Tokyo metro and Raliway network. In addition it is 5 minutes walking from Skyline express train from Narita to Tokyo. In 40 minutes you reach this hotel from Narita airport. The check in... More

Great hotel. Very convenient to Ueno station (about 2 min walk). Clean and service is great. The rooms are very small. My husband and I had to get creative with how we stored our luggage, but it was really great. No complaints. Free wifi and there is a restaurant downstairs that offers western and Japanese style breakfast. It was typical... More

WONDERFUL! Can't say enough about how small touches really made this a soft landing into Japan. Especially the items included in "Lady's Goods"--which included a flatiron, facial steaming machine and one of the best hairdryers I've ever used! I rarely use bathtubs, but this one was not only big enough and sparkling clean, but also included bath salts that were... More

The location is excellent. Very near to Metro line, very convenient. It's a little pricey. The rooms and the food too. Rooms are small, like most hotel rooms in Japan. At check in, the staff gave my kids stickers and that made them very happy. The only downside was when checking out, we had to carry our own luggage down from... More

Stayed here on a recommendation from a colleague. Very convenient location as it is right near the Ueno train station. Rooms are very clean with extremely nice beds, bathrooms, and service. The brand it relatively well known in Japan and I have stayed at the other Premier Ginza hotel in which I really liked as well.

I was staying for 2 nights with my wife and daughter in June 2016. Location 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The hotel is located just across Ueno Station, one of the busiest station in Tokyo. Entrance to Ueno Metro Station is just next to the hotel. It is surrounded by 24hr convenience stores, restaurants and izakayas that open until past midnight. Entertainment neighbourhood of... More

This hotel is a few minutes' walk from Ueno Station so you can jump on the Skyliner train at Narita Airport and be in your hotel room in less than an hour. The hotel has only a smallish reception area and an Italian restaurant on site, but no bar, although there are many places to eat and drink within a... More

We have stayed in a few different Mitsui Garden hotels in Tokyo, but we think this is the best option. Mitsui Garden Ueno has a great location that you can take direct train from airport to Ueno station and just cross the junction to the hotel. The receptionists speaks a good decent English and very helpful. Few minutes walk to... More

I had the pleasant to book again the mitsui garden hotel ueno and it hasn't changed at all. Great receptionists (always ready to help, polite and smiling all the time), fantastic room (spacious and fully equipped with amenities and a wonderfull view over ueno park) only bad note of the symphony is breakfast (not included in the room price). The... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
