We stayed here on October 2012, this hotel is well located near to Asakusabashi and Akihabara stations. From airport there is a service that goes to asakusanashi (ask before buy ticket) and from there you are in a short 5 minutes walk in hotel. Hotel has friendly staff with full command of English and also a convenient shop in ground... More

A new (2013) and clean hotel. Good beds even for larger Western European persons. Rooms aren't big but are big enough. You have a good desk with a wired Internet connection that you can easily extend to wifi with your own airport router. There is air conditioning in every room that you can easily control yourself. The hotel is open... More

Pros: The hotel locates close to the JR and subway stations. But caution for those with lots of luggage, JR station (Asakusabashi) has neither escalator nor elevator. The subway has them. Convenient on the first floor, and a mid-size supermarket nearby. Laundry room is very convenient and free of charge. Asakusabashi is an interestingly convenient place to stay for sightseeing.... Me and my partner stayed for 9 days at My Stays and we really reccomend it. The staff was very friendly although not all of them were good in english. The Lawson and supermarket next to the hotel are helpful for those who want to save money on food. The room had a great shower and bath accessories (shampoo, clean... More

At less than $100 a night, it represents fantastic value in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Very close to Asakusa, one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Tokyo for tourists, also close to famous Akihabara, Japan's "electric city". Just a couple train stops away from the newly completed Sky Tree, the tallest self-supporting tower in the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in March and it was perfectly adequate. Very easy to station, convenient lawsons in the basement, laundry facilities, I think you could even borrow a bike if you wanted to. Modern design (which I gather is rare in Japan) - just fine if you are a European wanting to do Japan on the cheap.

I always book at Weekly Mansion hotels, Osaka and Tokyo. Good price, convenient, competent staff, complete and they have easy to operate washing machines which is very important for us because we usually stay in Japan for weeks. Mystays Asakusabashi has free wifi at the lobby and cabled Internet access in the rooms. I believe it's a new hotel so... More

This was a semi-double room with the typical Japanese business hotel setup. Room was somewhat larger than other rooms we stayed in. It included TV, refrigerator, desk, clock, yukata, bath supplies and tea set. There was also a lounge chair - a nice touch not see in other facilities. Room was very clean and all facilities worked well. Room seemed... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
