I enjoyed my 4 nights stay at this hostel. It was located in a relatively quieter part of Ueno but still near shopping and eating establishments as well as train stations. A lot of free toiletries are provided. A lot of older Japanese stay or hang out in hostel but there were younger ones and foreigners as well.

first impressions of the area in the evening was that this was a somewhat raunchy place. I stayed for three nights and it turned out okay, staff are nice, and some understand English better than others. there are three floors, two nonsmoking, but be main area is very smoky, where the public bath and amenities are. mainly old men through... More

Great! I planned to stay 2 days and i stayed longer, excellent price, in Ueno, 5 min walking from Park, Station, Metro,...It is wih Sauna and Japanese bath, full of local workers, there is a smoking area, but not in capsule area, washing dryer and vending machines, relaxing area, very interesting , cheap and full of service, nice staff too

Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
