Close to several train stations. An affordable tiny room with strong AC! Great water pressure too! They always cleaned the room and the wifi was in the room. (I saw another post that said it was only downstairs. Not so.) They even have an ancient computer in the lounge if you need. Also you can use the coin operated washer... More

Is it small? Yes. Is it a 5 star resort? No. Is it trying to be? Not particularly. If you are looking for a quiet, clean, inexpensive hotel which is very close to a train station, then here is your hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet, the bathroom is small, but lots of things are small to me, I... More

I'm a solo traveler about 6ft tall. If you are used to luxury hotel and cluster phobic, this is definitely not the place for you. Room is very small, bathroom is even smaller, but the room is very clean and the neighbor hood is quiet. It's close to JR Asakusa-bashi station and it's about 10 ~ 15min walk from Akihabara.... You get what you pay for, but the room is clean, secure and we only used the room to sleep anyway, as we were exploring Tokyo every waking minute. Very conveniently located as it is very close to the subway/train station and the main street has restaurants and food stores. Wifi is only downstairs but free, get the password at... More

Staying in this hotel for 7 days for my visit to Anime Japan convention at Tokyo Big Sight. All is still the same like I remember: good location to my hobbies (Akihabara), easy access to overall Tokyo (Asakusabashi Metro & JR station), super friendly staffs and so very helpful especially on our check out time. Sure I'll be staying here... More

Great location close to Asakusabashi station, and not far from Asakusa / Senso-ji Shrine. Wifi is available in the lobby and the rooms are well kept and clean. Laundry and help desk is also at the reception area. This is a family run hotel and the owners are very humble and welcoming. I would suggest this to anyone as it... More

First the good: The staff was attentive, and understanding once we decided we no longer wanted to stay there. Also, the hotel wasn't dirty. Now, It seems like it was built in the 70's and has not received any renovations since then. The furniture, carpet, elevators, paint, bed linens, and just about everything looks like it is still the same... More

What can I say? It's cheap for Tokyo and close to a train station. Room was comfortable enough, and WiFi was dependable. Coffee shops and convenience stores are close by. Good if you reserve late (thus little choice) or just want to same money.

I stayed one night and location seems to be good. It is 30min from Haneda airport without transfer(Asakusa subway line) and it is 3min away from the asakusabashi station. There are two 24hour convenience store(1min). There are few 24hours japanese style franchises restaurant(ramen, gyudong etc) It was good for small breakfast. It is very close to Asakusa which is one... More

At first glance when arriving at this hotel it reminded me of a backpackers stay in south east Asia backpacks ect in the hall bit messy on arrival the guy at reception was not helpful and didn’t give us any information on the room or tell us how to get there we had to ask. The room was the smallest... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
