Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.

We stayed in a semi double room, and for a room that size, it was surprisingly comfortable. Usually these business hotels have mattresses like rocks, but that wasn't the case here. The bathroom was probably the smallest of any Japanese hotel I've stayed in, and the wifi was inconsistent, but the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with, and it's hard to beat the location. A solid choice for a night or two, if you need easy access to somewhere for a good price.

All hotels nearby Keisei Sta. were fully booked. I found this hotel with 14sqm twin bed room so I booked it and I 'was glad to do so. I stayed in this small hotel on 9-11 October 2016. It is easy to find hotel even I arrived very late on 9th October. Reception understand English even though he cannot speak. He's very helpful. I saw that this hotel offered free coffee or tea at reception area but I never tried it. My twin bed room is spacious enough to put 2 big traveling bags and 2 backpacks. It didn't have much furniture so you can move easily.
