Am staying here for 6 nights and this is my 3rd night here. The room is clean and it comes with a flat screen Sharp TV, air-con and LAN wireless internet. It is a relatively okay size for Tokyo and even comes with a mini fridge! I have chosen to stay at the 'ladies only' level and it does make me feel somewhat more comfortable.

The Hotel looks new and is about 6-8 minutes walk from the Minami Senju Station (off the Hibiya line and 3 stops away from the Ueno station). Quite easy to locate and considering how much I'm paying, really can't ask for more. There is a discounted rate for people staying for 6 nights and more. I was also given a bag filled with 'goodies' (yukata, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste&towel).

Staff here don't speak much English but it doesn't really make things difficult. They are polite and friendly and you can tell that they try to be as helpful as possible.

Like the review above, I stayed in Hotel New Koyo during my 1st night and...

I lived on New Koyo in, Hotel Hikari is across the steet across 7 eleven.

I moved there after 3 days with no aircodition i could not sleep.

I Lived there for 10 days, excelent Hotel.
Lan in Room(there was a cable in the room) and wifi too.
Cable tv too, and really good Aircondition, i accidently put it too low and froze so i had to put it up.
Besode that, tha staff are not good at english but the know the basic.
If you need something they can help you out and point out on the maps.
They have pay shower and Japanese Bath, a wonderfull place i might add, used it every day excelent to bi in hte bath after a hard day walking around i might add.
The room are small, abut more then then enough for me i might add.

it cost like 500 yen more a day, but it was worth every extra yen.
It had a Laundry and toilets on every floor.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
