The staff here were so friendly! I had just moved to Japan from America and was worried that I wouldn't be able to make any friends, but as soon as I arrived the kind staff made me feel right at home and I became good friends with them over the two weeks that I was there. The cafe was super cozy and the food was really good. The whole hotel had a really nice atmosphere and great amenities. I'm embarrassed to admit that I actually shed a few tears when I left, because meeting such kind people after moving here alone knowing barely anyone in the country meant a lot to me.
Dear Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, I would give you 4.7/5 because the hotel was impressive but one thing I would recommend to improve is the checkout time. This is because on the day of checkout, my flight was at 11pm but the lastest check out was at 11am which gave us a bit of inconvenience as we had to think of what to do with checking out that early!! But overall you were impressive. Now for the impressive part, the front desk offered to let us leave the luggage with them while we went for last minute shopping and tour. What else is good is that it is very convenient to get food there as there are so many convenient stores, restaurants and there is a shopping mall as well near the hotel. It is also near Ikebukuro train station and a underground shopping area which is linked to the train station. The nearest train station exit to the hotel is only 5 mins away by walking. The location of the hotel is great as the nearest train station also provide to go a lot of places as it is near to a lot of famous spots and the famous nightlife district Shinjuku. Shinjuku is only one station away from Ikebukuro by the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line and the JR Saikyo Line. Shinjuku is also 4 stations away buy the JR Yamamote Line. Another famous spot it is near to is Shibuya Station and Shibuya Crossing. Shibuya is 2 stations away from Ikebukuro by the JR Saikyo and Shonan-Shinjuku Lines. And it is also 7 stations away by the JR Yamanote Line, the taxi fare there is 5090 JPY. Another one it is near to is Harajuku, Harajuku is 6 stations away and the only line that is used to go there is JR Yamanote Line. It is also nearer to Saitama Prefecture and no Shinkansen is required to go Saitama Prefecture from this part of Tokyo. I strongly recommend this place as a option for staying. This hotel is cheap as well. Thank you for the excellent service as well that the front desk gave as well.…
The front desk and restaurant staff were very accommodating and pleasant. We were a group of 14 adults and 4 kids, they assisted us with all our requests. It was a simple accommodation but it was the warmth and professionalism of the team members that made it the best place to stay in. The location was great too. It was at a quite corner, a few steps away and you'll be at the busy area of shops and restaurants. You don't have to worry if you don't speak Japanese, majority of them speak english. Highly recommended hotel in Tokyo.
Hotel is near ikebukuro station, lots of establishments around both for food and shopping. Room is old but still comfy and spacious enough. Towels sheets and toiletries are replaced everyday, like a full service hotel
All the employees were amazingly friendly, the room was well taken care of, and the price was the lowest i paid the entire trip I had. Will wholeheartedly recommend to anyone that will be staying in ikebukuro
It was a good experience, it was my second time and it's still a very good place to live. The staff is some of the funniest people you can meet and they clean it every day. I have nothing to complain about
The hotel is near Ikebukuro Station . The room is quite narrow. Luggage storage service is available. Receptionist, good service. The facilities in the room are well equipped. The room is clean and tidy.
the room is not small as other hotels in Japan. staffs are nice and helpful. there are many restaurants and convenience store nearby. they also sell discount tickets for metro and some spots. it's really a good experience for stay there!
This hostel is very clean, cosy and well located. Also, the staff is very nice especially Ryo Nishikawa who is always arranging and smiling. I would come back without hesitation. My trip was amazing thanks to the staff's advice.
The only downside to staying here is that the rooms are fairly small, but that is typical of Japanese hotels. Staff speaks English fluently, is very helpful and the location is very close to transportation, making the stay very convenient.
