I enjoyed the stay there last week. The area is good to have dinners and others. It is about 7-8 minutes walk from Ikebukuro nishi guchi. The room is good size, clean and calm enough for Tokyo area with the rate. Good receptionists with smiles and prompt responses. They have two kinds of break fast, one is western style :... More

This hotel is cheap, clean, and for Tokyo it has comparatively spacious rooms. What really makes it stand out among other business hotels of this kind is the staff, who really care about their guests and will help with anything you ask (including carrying your suitcases up and down stairs - unfortunately the lift doesn't go to the ground floor.)... I was travelling in Tokyo as part of an international group of friends. I was very pleased by my stay in the Hotel Ohedo. They are an inexpensive business hotel that gave us a good rate for a ten day stay. The rooms were (for Tokyo!) reasonably large, clean, and with all necessary amenities. The staff were well-trained and friendly;... More

Small hotel with all basic needs, fair offer for the price but with no additional comfort. It is allowed to smoke in the lobby, not a lot to do in the area close by, distance to the train station reasonable. Next time we will look for something closer to the yamanote line.

The walk to train station is far especially when carrying luggages around. The worst is there is no lift to the ground level of the hotel. The hotel lobby is located on 2nd floor. Not advisable especially for ladies as no one will help to carry the luggage. The staff is average. The hotel room is very small and not... More

My friend and I stayed here in November 2010. Right before you get to the hotel you encounter trouble - they have no lift, and they're located on the 2nd floor of their building. The only way to get there is to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs. Who doesn't have a lift from the first floor if... More

Ohedo Hotel is the worst hotel I have ever encountered. I travel alone and it was my first time in tokyo. I spent my first night at Ohedo (i paid for 3 nights) , when I was asleep at 1am after midnight, I was awaken by loud banging noises on my door. It was a very violent banging that I... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
