We stayed here 1 night when we arrived in Tokyo. We stayed here so it was easier to explore Asakusa, Odaiba, and Akihabara. The room is definitely bigger than the average room in Tokyo. The bed was hard, but the room had a great view of Tokyo SkyTree. It's a few minutes walk to the closest train station. You may... More

Hotel in Japan tends to be very small. This hotel is consider acceptable as we have 3 guests in a room. Space is well appreciated especially in the toilet. Communication is quite a barrier for those who do not know Japanese. The staffs are not very friendly. My friend lost his wallet on our day 1 to Japan and wanted... More

We were travelling as family and the rooms provided for 2A2C has 2 super single plus 1 additional single bed, quite big which is a far cry from Hong Kong's hotel's family rooms. Learn to use the AC system or just don't turn it on in winter or it'll be very hot room. Open the air vent near the windows... More

Ryogoku is known for the Edo Museum and the sumo stadium, but we chose the Daiichi as it was close to someone we were visiting in Tokyo. The hotel offered good sized rooms, good value for money and was fairly close to the JR station at Ryogoku and even closer to the subway network. We had a room facing SkyTree... More

Dear JapanCustomTours, Thank you very much for staying at Daiichi Hotel Ryogoku and for taking the time to write your kind comments on Trip Advisor. There is Edo Tokyo museum next to the hotel. There is very popular regardless of a foreigner and a Japanese as the museum where many visitors can experience Edo culture. In addition, a merit of... More

This is a pretty nice hotel in the Sumida area, near the Edo museum and the Ryogoku station. The rooms are small, and my bed could use new mattress. The staff were friendly, and breakfast on the 25th floor had a very nice buffet. Note that the TV service has only a few Japanese stations. As far as I could... More

Dear Gelber155, Thank you for having stayed at the Dai-ichi Hotel Ryogoku. Thank you for contributing experience during your Tokyo stay to a Trip adviser. We are glad in your having been satisfied with the location of the hotel. Ryogoku is the town where the traditional Japanese culture roots in. This town has a lot of traditional dishes to be... This hotel is really well positioned for a visit to Tokyo Sumo. It's not too bad either for Disney and has a shuttle bus which is free. Rooms are clean and the hotel generally is of a good standard. Staff are welcoming and friendly although English is not widely spoken. Good view of Fuji from the breakfast room. Downside, no... More

By far the biggest room I had in all of Japan! Booked a double room and was pleasantly surprised (after staying in a room the size of a shoebox the previous nights) to find a massive bathroom, huge bed, desk, chairs and a table and a huge window looking out over Tokyo! We stayed on floor 23 and while I... More

Stay there during the full cherry blossom season. Completely overwhelmed by the trees by the Edo City Museum. The room was clean and simple. The breakfast was very good. The hotel would have gotten 5 stars from me if not for the lacking of wifi in room.

Our room was at 23rd floor and able to look at the sky tree. It's very beautiful at night. The location is convenient as it's immediately next to the metro station and only need to walk about 12 minutes to JR station. There are many restaurant there and some are open 24 hours. The staff are very nice and the... More
