My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights in total during our trip in January. We stayed here for 1 night at the start of our trip and had 2 double rooms and 1 king room. These rooms were clean and spacious however, the layout meant that there was poor lighting (both natural and artificial). On our second stay...

The lobby are great very impressive chandelier , except lobby's furnishing are outdated. Bell boy service are excellent. The room are tiny and plain low quality furnishing, not the Hyatt Group standard. If you want the nice and reasonable breakfast there is a Denny's restaurant a block away in the corner. Location are great and shuttle bus service to the...

Try booking a sample stay in Tokyo on the Hyatt site and compare the tag lines for the five main Hyatt properties. Among them, the Park Hyatt is an “oasis,” the Grand Hyatt near Roppongi is a “lifestyle destination,” the new Andaz is, well, the Andaz, and the Hyatt Regency is a “blend of comfort, functionality, and humble courtesy.” Not...

Made an emergency same day booking in the wee hours of 26 December due to botched Airbnb stay. The rooms are much bigger than I expected, very comfy. They have a pillow menu and menu for other things as well, even pajamas. What's truly great is the location - the subway is literally downstairs. We kept missing the free shuttle...

Families looking for a welcoming warm hotel with good customer service should avoid this place. Real shame because it's well positioned and has some nice elements. Staff and service were not what you'd expect from a Hyatt. Room was most acceptable and clean and views were great. Our issues were related to keys that never worked and restaurant reservation stuff...

I cannot believe they wanted to charge us $20 per person to use the hotel pool. As a family of 4, why would we pay $80 to use the pool ? Surely use of the pool is included in the room rate? The rooms are large but the decor is nothing special. The cafe is too expensive. The boulangerie has...

Having recently stayed with my 3 teenage boys- booking appropriate bedding is important. Not really suitable for 4 in one room in available bedding, unless children are small. Online agency booking - which was great to minimise cost, but Hyatt would have appropriately advised bedding . Buffet breakfasts- although expensive- was great. Difficult to fill teenage boys in Japan- so healthy...

Great all-around customer service. Clean, quiet and spacious room. Free Wi-Fi (strong connection anywhere in the premises). Free shuttle to Odakyu store (comes every 20 minutes). Indoor pool. The staff are wonderful, friendly and spoke fluent English. They are extremely helpful and literally don't let you carry your own bags. They are also very knowledgeable of tourist spots and how...

we stayed in both the the hilton on the hyatt whilst in tokyo and i'd say that the hyatt just pipped it for me. both are in shinjuku which has to be the best area to stay if you're a tourist as there's plenty to explore nearby. there's a shuttle bus to and from shinjiku station. wish we'd realized this...

Overall a very nice and prestigious hotel close to the busiest train station (Shinjuku) in the world! From this base, you can access almost anywhere in Tokyo AND Japan! We had a great family holiday and we found the staff extremely helpful and very friendly. All in all a great place to stay in Tokyo!!

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
