We stayed four nights at the Citadines Shinjuku. We chose it because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed: I agree with everything written below. The room was very large – by Japanese standards – and simply but tastefully decorated. There was largely enough space to put our big suitcases and all our clothes (which can...

We stayed here 8 nights. The location to Shinjuku was good with a 20 min walk to the main area or a quick subway ride. The Appt/Hotel was comfortable with everything you needed. The room sizes are large for Japanese standards and the rates are very good considering what you get. I think we paid about $aud140 per night. The...

This modern property has been designed in a modern utilitarian way. The room was very quiet and spacious by Tokyo standards and located on the quieter East side of Shinjuku. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spotless with a functional kitchenette with plenty of storage space and everything you would need for self-catering. Another plus was...

The hotel is not far from a famous department store as it is just located on the same Main Street, but it is already a quiet peaceful area. The hotel is located closed to one of the famous garden and we had a very good walk under fantastic late autumn scenery. The subway station is hidden at the back of...

We stayed at the Citadines in Shinjuku . It is a fairly basic apartment hotel but what it lacks in character is compensated by a large (by Japanese standards) room and fairly central situation approximately a 15 minute walk from the railway station. Breakfast is not very exciting and served in what can only be described as a cafeteria but...

Our group of 8 reserved 4 rooms and stayed 3 nights during our spring visit to Japan. We loved this property and definitely will stay here again when we return to Tokyo (hopefully soon). The location is great to explore Tokyo. Famous Gyeon park is about 10 minutes walk, it is beautiful during Sakura blooming. Two subway stations are within...

My son and I have just returned from a 5 night trip to Tokyo and 3 nights in Kyoto. Citadines Shinjuku were recommended to us by a friend and we weren't disappointed. We really loved coming home to our apartment at Citadines at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. This apartment style hotel is nicely appointed in a...

Very polite staff - I tried to learn a little Japanese before I went but most staff spoke superb English. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to both the main Shinjuku station and Shinjuku Gyonmae, and most of the major shops and restaurants. The local area is safe and pleasant to walk around, even after dark. A lot of...

We stayed here after having stayed at Citadines Kyoto. It is walking distance to Shinjuku shops, restaurants and the station. The room was a great size for us with our 7 month old. We felt like we could still move around once we put up our porta cot. Recommend this place highly for anyone who has small kids or wants...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
