Good location to visit Keio University hospital, but terrible hotel.
1)Dirty room.dirty carpet.Bath room is also bad.
2)No elevator. It's hard to use with large suitcase.
3)The Hotel act a lie.(The Hotel was tied up with JR(Japanese State railway)but currently not. However they still puts up the signboard "Tied up hotel with JR"
4)Breakfast is also terrible, but you can find better one outside the hotel.
5)No Wifi
6)No International TV like BBC or CNN.You can watch only Japanese domestic services.

I regularly spend one night in Tokyo over the week-end, and sofar this hotel has given me the best satisfaction. Definitely affordable, conveniently located about 300 m from Shinanomachi station in the near-central and pleasant neighborhood of Shinjuku, it's a cosy, with slightly outdated decoration and comfort, BUT : it's the first time in Tokyo I could spend a FULL night of sleep without being woken up by traffic! In summary, breakfast is minimal, comfort is basic, cost and service are vey honest, location is quite nice and the calm is a total bliss ! More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
