We stayed 3 nights. The room is larger than most Japanese budget hotels I've stayed at. The facilities are fairly basic - no laundry or breakfast offered. It's a quiet location with not much going on, but it's close to the metro station which is 2 stops over from Shinjuku, where alot of the action is happening. The room's carpeting, window sheets and lamp heads were stained and dingy but the room was pretty clean in general. Walls are a bit thin, we heard some unwelcomed noises at night. More

We stayed 3 nights. Our room was large with all amenities. Bathroom tiny but usual in Japan. We booked a twin but was given one double and one single bed on a non smoking floor which smelt of stale cigarettes. It was handy to Akebonabashi station but a fair few steps up to street level. Just two stops from Shinjuku Station. Little English spoken by reception staff therefore we don't know if they had a breakfast room or not. Internet did not work on my computer apparently only for mobiles, but this is questionable with non Japanese units. It was a quieter part of town but felt very safe walking around t night. The streets were well lit. There was an elevator, fridge, tea making facilities and vending machine. We ate breakfast at two little coffee shops around the corner, one serves great toast. A bit far out to be at the action. Good value. More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
