This hotel says they are 4 stay but I would say they are about a 2 star. Very overpriced for what you get. While space is limited in Tokyo these rooms are beyond small. The rooms are tiny, you will barely be able to fit 2 suitcases. We had to call and ask for the chairs to be removed from... More

This hotel is in a great location on top of the shops and train station - very easy access to all the shops, restaurants etc. The hotel staff are friendly and will go beyond to help out. The rooms are spacious compared to other hotels in Japan I have stayed at and the room is very clean with great amenities.... More

The hotel is location right on Shibuya crossing connected to the JR shibuya station. Best location for getting around Tokyo. The hotel service was good, the room we had was quite big at around 20sqm. Hotel was clean and had all the required amenities , free wifi. Quite pricey but worth it. Will stay again !

In Shibuya we found it difficult to find a single room to house all 4 of us comfortably but we managed to find this one above a main subway station and great shopping centre - at a reasonable rate. We did bring a travel cot which fit comfortably in the corner. I found out Japan has a culture of children... More

Stayed here quite a few times. Great location ... near the subway of Shibuya .. and if yo get the right room, you can see the Shibuya crossing to your window .... Just a stone throw from The Room club if you like that type of thing too .. soulful and funky and jazzy music most nights of the week... More

This is a great hotel at reasonable prices for Tokyo. Especially considered the rooms were quite comfortable - compared to some hotels in Tokyo where you can either have access, or keep luggage in your room. But not both. Staff were very friendly and and usual in Japan, service good. Only thing is that neither google maps nor Apple maps... More

We stayed at this hotel twice for a total of 5 nights. The first 3 nights of our trip were a splurge. We stayed on the "Excel" (highest) floor 24. We had a perfect view of Shibuya Crossing, also known as the Pedestrian Scramble. We made this request when we reserved the room and were thrilled that it worked out.... More

I have used the Exel for all of my trips to Tokyo both business and private for the last ten years. It is perfectly located next to Shibuya station making it ideal for getting around the key areas such as Shibuya, Dakanyama, harijuku, Ebisu etc. the hotel is no smoking, has fast free wifi and is affordable by Tokyo standards... I stay at this hotel often and highly recommend it. The perfect location for Tokyo, clean and quiet rooms and a great city view. The downsides? Being a Japanese hotel the rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny. But the biggest gripe is the service is not up to international standard - certainly not for a hotel charging $400+... More

This hotel is in THE BEST location if you're planning on staying in the Shibuya area. It is conveniently located next to / above the train station and on the corner of the busy crossing. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from and store to shop from. The room was a normal American size hotel room and we were... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
