Located steps away from Shinjuku (the world's busiest train station) in the most populated metro area (Tokyo-Yokohama) on earth, staying at the Hotel Century Southern Tower truly gives you the feeling that you are in the "center of it all"! As a regular traveler to Japan, I have stayed at numerous hotels in Tokyo and this is quickly becoming my... More

The hotel rooms are small, as they are generally in Tokyo. We stayed in the panoramic room and the view was incredible. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location in Shinjuku, right across from the Takashimaya Department Store (check out the depatchka on the basement floor) and close to Shinjuku Station. We... More

we stayed for 7 days. the room is bigger than most hotel rooms in japan, the place is really nice, the only down fall are no bellboys, you have to carry your luggage yourself. the front desk is on the 21th floor. after checked in you have to take a different elevator to your room and once again you have... This hotel is at a great location if you are going to be using the trains or if you are coming in late on a train and need a place to stay that is steps from the station. We used the hotel before we went hiking Mount Fuji because it is near the meeting point and also it was an... More

We enjoyed our stay for seven nights very much and it was affordable as well even though it's Tokyo and right there in crowdy Shinjuku very close to JR station. Had a wonderful breakfast every day which was included in our package. The breakfast had everything you could wish for and wow what a view from the resturant. However it's... More

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in August. It is ideally located near JR Shinjiku station (less than 5 minutes walk). The room was very clean. The staff is very attentive and polite. We did not get breakfast option and I think it was a right decision. There are lots of options for breakfast right outside of the... More

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. I was really stunned by the beautiful view. The room is spacious and clean too. The buffet breakfast, with both the food and the view of the restaurant, is excellent. The location is superb for shopping, dining, and travelling. I will definitely stay there when I visit Tokyo again.

Like my previous 2 stays at this hotel, the close proximity to JR Shinjuku Station, nearby shops and restaurants, and the views, made this yet again my first choice of a Tokyo hotel. Not much more to add that has not already been covered by my 2015 stay review, except that since I was not part of a Tour this... More

We stayed here at the end of our 2 week stay. The rooms are small, but modern and adequate. The bathroom is very tight, but manageable. The location is fantastic- just across a bridge from Takashimaya Times Square and a huge bookstore with one floor of books in English. The buffet and service were excellent. The views are amazing and... More

We needed a hotel near Shinjuku station for an early morning trip and this hotel fit the bill. It was within walking distance to many restaurants and shops and was well sign posted once you made your way out of Shinjuku station. The room itself was on the smaller side, but that is to be expected. Apart from its great... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
