We were lucky enough to stay here at the end of a week of work in Tokyo... It’s a fabulous, hip, busy hotel in a great location walking to shops. Rooms are great, light and well equipped with all kinds of great amenities. Definitely recommend a stay here!!!!

This hotel is meant for weddings, there isn’t much service and the staff are like wedding planners. We had arrived early and was promised early check in but was told they had no information about this and asked us to come back later, when we did the same staff attended to us could not recognize us and forgot who we were when it was barely 2 hours ago that we spoke to her. They don’t help with bigger bags and you have to take them up to the rooms yourself. Rooms are really really tiny, toilet had barely space to turn around. Carpets were stained and dirty. They called us the moment we got to the room and instead of a welcome was told everything at the mini bar area is chargeable except the coffee and tea. They are so welcoming !!!! Noticed the sink was choked and called them but no one answered, when someone finally answered but with an unhappy voice and said loudly YES!!! When I told her about the sink she says she will send someone to check but the person never did. We did not bother anymore and left it as it was. When ever we used the sink we had to be careful not to flood the sink because of the choke. Staff are generally unfriendly and cold. You can see they are very fake even when they try to smile at you. Not worth the money we payed. A night costs around 500.

Pros: 1. Location is amazing. It's just minutes walk from almost anywhere interesting in Shibuya 2. The hotel is beautifully designed. From its exterior, lobby / bar, restaurants, shop, and rooms. The design is consistent yet functional. Details are crazy. Overall the design gives us a sense of staying in a private condo rather than a hotel 3. Room amenities are so well thought of. We are group of friends staying in the Living Suite. The suite is complemented with a record player (with selections of vinyl too), a kitchenette / bar (almost like an actual personal bar), mini bar offering is dominated by local snacks and drinks which we love very much. But the most surprising thing is a projector (yes, literally projector), in the living area, so we spent our nights enjoying our own "mini cinema" inside the suite. How amazing is that?! 4. Price, for three people, is reasonable considering the location, room space, and also amenities 5. The bar is very good and has a great vibe and crowd 6. The store is also a highlight. We ended up buying some of the room amenities, socks, kendama, bamboo fan, and some other stuff Cons: 1. Hotel is not only about building and interior, but also about feeling welcomed. The staff seemed too busy with so many things when we stayed there and we largely felt ignored 2. Better soundproofing will help to improve the sleep quality, especially knowing that the hotel is running a lot of local events

Wanted to try something not so corporate so tried out Trunk (Hotel) with some trepidation due to the high number of negative reviews on TA Arrived and was warmly welcomed by staff at front door that brought me to reception where check in was quick and painless. I was on my way out to dinner so hung out in the lobby for a little bit before my car arrived and had a brief chat with the same friendly girl manning the front door. Must say a hotel’s first impression is set with staff like her. The room was small and had no closet, but it was comfortable & every item was well thought out and had a story that came with it (most made by local artisans and sometimes from upcycled waste, ie the flip flops which you get to take home instead of disposable hotel slippers). I booked the cheapest room possible but there are 14 other rooms, that looked enticing on booking.com. Based on TA reviews, I brought my bose noise cancelling headphones but didn’t need to use them, my one night stay was comfortable and I would not mind coming back. (and check out the other room types). Realized most of the negative TA reviews were written by guests disappointed about the service in the common areas which I didn’t have time to try but from the brief moments I was there, the lounge had a happy vibe, seemed to be quite happening and popular. Look forward to coming back.
