I have mixed feelings about this place. I really like the vibe and ethos of the hotel. The bar and restaurants are buzzing, and the staff and service are excellent. But the standard room, bathroom and beds are very cool but really small, even for Tokyo, given the price. If you plan on relaxing in your room for any period of time this is probably not the place for you, but good as a city bolt hole in a good location. Be warned that comments about weddings overrunning the hotel are true, it didn’t bother us because we didn’t spend much time at the hotel but it was chaos in the lobby and bar with wedding guests lunch time and early evening on the weekend.

Recently visited and had a great experience. The location is amazing. The hotel is VERY trendy. There are very cool, well dressed people working in the lobby at all times, and a DJ at night. We liked the opportunity for a scene in the hotel, but it may not be for everyone. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, both before and during our visit. The room was compact but very comfortable, clean, and efficient. We loved having a balcony for some fresh air and additional space. We only ate at the bar, but loved the fries with all the toppings. And the drinks were excellent. We will definitely stay at this little oasis the next time we're in Tokyo.

What a gem of a hotel….seriously! This boutique hotel is gorgeous. Beautiful decor, a very cool, bustling lobby with coffee/bar & boutique & staff who really were the icing on the cake. The staff were so friendly & extremely accommodating to our family. The hotel is located in an amazing location in Shibuya …close enough to cat st for cool shopping & there were a plethora of amazing eating options at your doorstep. Notable places: Streamer (the BEST coffee around…not to mention their red velvet cheesecake brownie) , SHIbuichi bakery for delicious hot out of the oven breakfast bagels, croissants, kaarage chocken sandwiches & baked goods. For dinner do not miss Kushi just by the hotel entrance. Delicious rice dishes, yakitori & curry-they also do a deal offering a free glass of wine to hotel guests with your order. Menchirashi udon noodles ALWAYS had a queue & Yai Yai okonomiyaki was delicious. Do not miss The Little bakery Tokyo for the most delicious gourmet cakes, sandwiches & baked goods around. A big shout out to Yukiya for making our stay super special…& going above & beyond to make our stay so memorable 🙌🏻

We decided to spend our last night of our 10 day Japan trip at Trunk Hotel before heading home to California. We felt very welcomed and attended to at every stop. Upon arrival, they carried our luggage to the room. They personally escorted us around the building grounds then up to our room and answered any questions we might’ve had, very cute touch. The night and morning bartenders were the stars of the show. They had no issue working up beautiful and delicious off-menu cocktails. Breakfast was light, flavorful, and filling. Perfect before our long flight home. The rooms were quant, very clean, and had a nice boutique vibe. Out of the 5 premium hotel/ryukan’s we stayed at, none had much in the way of clothing storage. I assume it could be a cultural difference. Regardless, that did not take away from our experience. It was a beautiful and warm way to end an above and beyond vacation!

This hip hotel is staffed by young professionals. I thought the service was friendly but maybe we had the right look. The main feature of the hotel is the expansive, moodily lit lobby which is peopled at all times by young digital nomads vying for table space. It is fun having a drink and doing work there. TRUNK HOTEL is attached to a wedding centre, so there is a constant hive of wedding activity going on. The hordes of guests using the lobby as a thoroughfare is not a great vibe, although it is entertaining at times. The room is nicely appointed with a contemporary minimal design aesthetic. Even the flooring was minimal luxe. We had a floor to ceiling window which caught the silhouette of the native trees outside creating the prettiest mood I have ever felt in a hotel before. It is this attention to aesthetic considerations that makes me forgive some of the room’s unfortunate design choices. There is no closet space. You have to hang your clothes from one of the three metal hooks or pack your things away each time you use them. The bathroom is super cute with a booth style shower. I want a shower like that in my own future home. The room was small, but cosy and had a good feeling. One thing that bothered me was the barely there soft pillows, that felt so structureless as to be uncomfortable. There was noise outside but it wasn’t annoying. We thought the voices were the wind. The location is excellent. It is easy to walk to many cool local shops and venues. I loved staying in the thick of things. I have been to Harajuku many times but I felt staying at TRUNK HOTEL allowed us to have a deep dive into local culture and we discovered so many beautiful places, objects and experiences.

ホテルラウンジバーにカフェラテを注文したら、大きなハエがコップにいました。その後ホテルの対応が乱暴すぎて、ここにコメントしようと思いましたが。英語となりますが、気になる方は翻訳機能を使ってご覧になってください。 There was a fly 🪰 in my coffee after I almost finished everything I realized it. below is the email I sent to the hotel, and the screen shoots is how they reached out to me after. So the best proposal is that they will provide me to a drink again in the bar where I had the fly coffee. I would never going there again or suggest to any of my friends to got to this cheap place with poor service and poor responsibility to their customers also their hygiene environment. And then the funny thing, the last picture of that matcha latte is the one they made for my friend after making my coffee. They even didn't say sorry, or suggest to make another one.we just found it's funny but now I can see how bad was the service there. ------------email---------------- I would like to make a complaint about the experience in trunk lounge today 2022/11/29 In the afternoon I went to the trunk hotel lounge for coffee and work from there as a regular customer. I got my coffee as usual so was just sitting there and enjoy it. But after almost finishing it, I found something in the bottom and it was a fly which literally looked like the emoji ?, a big one you probably wouldn't see in a clean place unless you are in a dirty fish market. You could imagine how disgusted I was at that moment. So then I went to the counter to talk to the staff, then they bring a lady name WOO YOUNG JU, she expressed herself by saying sorry and showing she is generally sorry for it, and she said she will ask her boss who is her supervisor of her to discuss what to do after. Then the person came, a Japanese gentleman( he didn’t give me his business card so I can’t tell his name, he Has a bit round body black hair, wearing a black shirt ) , but the first thing he said was: let me express myself, we discussed about the possibility of this incident , we don't think this fly was in any of our coffee making process, not possible in the coffee machine, nor in the milk. It could be just a fly in the room flied in your cup after we made it. I'm sorry for that. Then he suggested to refund me. I thought there is nothing more to talk to him so I just said ok. Then the lady Woo came few times after telling me how sorry she is for this incident. Then I told her because of the explanation I have got from the gentleman make my day even worse. I don't blame this on you, I know you are trying to do your best, but your boss wasn't even trying. So I wanted to report this incident, as this is not a way of apologizing, he didn't suggest anything instead of saying to refund me, he said what do you want, I told him there is nothing we want from you except a good apology. This is just unacceptable. I expect a better action of an apology than that. I hope the trunk hotel management team will make a good move on this, taking this seriously as it is a really bad incident that could damage the whole brand. I have got photo and video of the incident if you need to check. I wanted to make a complaint on Internet but I thought maybe it's better to talk here first. Best regards, A customer

I stayed at the Tokyo Hilton before arriving here. While I have nothing against that hotel the Trunk was just such a better feel. From the location to the rooms to the amenities to the chill feel at the restaurant below. Don't miss the vegan plate for lunch. We'll be back.

This hotel is meant for weddings, there isn’t much service and the staff are like wedding planners. We had arrived early and was promised early check in but was told they had no information about this and asked us to come back later, when we did the same staff attended to us could not recognize us and forgot who we were when it was barely 2 hours ago that we spoke to her. They don’t help with bigger bags and you have to take them up to the rooms yourself. Rooms are really really tiny, toilet had barely space to turn around. Carpets were stained and dirty. They called us the moment we got to the room and instead of a welcome was told everything at the mini bar area is chargeable except the coffee and tea. They are so welcoming !!!! Noticed the sink was choked and called them but no one answered, when someone finally answered but with an unhappy voice and said loudly YES!!! When I told her about the sink she says she will send someone to check but the person never did. We did not bother anymore and left it as it was. When ever we used the sink we had to be careful not to flood the sink because of the choke. Staff are generally unfriendly and cold. You can see they are very fake even when they try to smile at you. Not worth the money we payed. A night costs around 500.
