I stayed at the Miyako on an airline forced overnight with a very early transfer to Haneda. The service is quite good as others have noted, but the room lacks basic necessities that a business hotel should have in 2011. There's no WiFi at all; my room only had a nonfunctioning wired connection. The fact that there were two extensive... More

Located Tokyo's west-end, neighbour to many of embassies. I prefer this quiet location after busy day out in Tokyo. Most of office/ tourist attraction, you could reach by taxi (app 1000-2000yen) from the hotel, and still work out cheaper than staying in hotel located in center.

This is a smoothly run operation. Check in was straight forward and our room was plenty big enough for the family. All amenities were provided and were of excellent quality. The view onto the garden was an added bonus. Hotel is easily reached from Narita by bus and is just a short taxi ride if you come by train. The... More

Rooms were a good size for within Tokyo. There wasn't really a view, but that's OK. Food was good (both room service and at the restaurants). Very near a train station which you'll have to take, if you plan to go anywhere -- the area itself doesn't have much to offer within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff.

Centrally located in the business and shopping area of Tokyo.Easy access to metro.Occasionally can get the view of Mount Fuji from the lobby on the 20th floor Good ambience and decor.Food is a problem for vegetarians as the choice is very limited

these are the words for my stay here..I like it to be my home everytime I'd be in Tokyo. Excellent check in... My brother booked it in his account... Got upgraded in the executive floor instantly. They were rather uptight in assigning seats for breakfast... they would always make you stay away from the tables overlooking the garden unless you... More

I have stayed at the Miyako a few times on business trips to Tokyo and, although I have only stayed at one other hotel in the city, I like it very much. It is a bit of a walk to the Metro, but in the mornings they have a shuttle bus to Shinagawa station - only a 5-7 minute ride... More

I stayed at this hotel since I had a very good deal for a long stay (9 days). The hotel was superb. It is very nice, it has some japenese gardens around (recommended to visit a private garden nearby), the beds and rooms are great, and it is in a quiet area of tokyo (which seems impossible!). In addition the... More

Good size rooms though interconnecting would have been better. Room service and food were both good. Set in Lovely tranquil Gardens which made looking out the windows a pleasant experience. Travelling with small children who got sick, the staff bent over backwards to make the stay as comfortable as possible. A bit away from the mainstream but the Regular shuttle... More

After the reviews, I was concerned about the room we would receive. I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice large room with attractive Asian-inspired decor. PROS: king bed, large tub, warm seat on toilet, clean room. I had a good massage in the workout center and a relaxing soak in their hot tub. Everyone was very kind. Nice, quiet... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
