This was my 5th stay at The Strings. Every visit has been close to perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, the lobby floor is open above to all the guest floors, creating a huge open space that is inviting and comfortable. The rooms are large compared to many hotel rooms in Japan, about the same as most Marriott/Hyatt/Hilton rooms in...

The hotel location is very central, close to JR station and the business district. May be very crowded during work days peak hours as you will go against the traffic. Hotel entrance is a bit hard to find, as the lobby is on the second floor. Just follow the direction you should be fine. The room is spacious and elegant,...

Location, location, location: Hotel is located right next to Shinigawa Station, which is a major hub with access to both local, JR Lines and bullet train. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the station. You don't have to cross any streets, or simply connected to the station itself. Amazing service: This was our first...

This is a great hotel. Rooms are spacious and wonderfully appointed. It is literally above Shinagawa Station so is very convenient to the Bullet Train and Narita airport train. We had a number of problems communicating at the train station and concierge actually walked over to the station with us to sort the issue out. This took a significant amount...

I loved the décor of this hotel, however, it's location is sort of 'out of the way'. Bar closed early and there are not many late night places to go on this side of Shinagawa station. It's overpriced and would have preferred a different location that was a little more "fun" to hang out in if I was paying that...

I found the Intercontinental Strings hotel to be idea for my business trip to Tokyo. I stayed for a week, and everything ran efficiently throughout. My room was comfortable, housekeeping and room service worked well, the restaurant was fine, the gym was fine, staff were very courteous and thoughtful (eg offering an umbrella on a rainy day, unprompted. If staying...

The tall building itself is not the whole hotel property. Actually hotel is located inside that building. Anyway... looks nice. Location is very nice, easy to look around by metro. Breakfast restaurant offers nice food and if they recommend some eggs etc on the menu for charge. Just reconsider about that. I ordered the menu for the whole my stays...

Location: Next to Shinagawa Station, You can get to the hotel from Narita Airport by direct Limousine Bus, which is convenient. Other Hotels too In Tokyo have this advantage. It is only 20 mn drive to Haneda airport. If your airlines gives you the choice between Haneda and Narita , then select always Haneda since distance is really a big...

Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. Is extremely well connected in terms of proximity to Shinagawa station. I took the train from Haneda airport to Shinagawa, then walked to the hotel. Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
