This hotel is quite well located, close to the Akebane JR line station, just a few stops from major hubs like Ueno, Shinjuku and Tokyo station so its a good low cost alternative for those not wanting to fork out huge sums for location. The area it is located in is full of day and night time eateries, supermarkets and... More

It was extremely convenient to the Metro which had several different lines. It was also very good value for money because it was away from the usual tourist haunts, but a train to Tokyo didn't take long (about 25 minutes). The staff were very helpful and my room was clean, albeit small. I was staying alone which was probably a... More

We booked for 2 double rooms (2 adults, 1 child per room) and 1 single room for 1 adult and 1 child. But as soon as we arrived we saw only 1 double bed without any space and extra bed for children. We asked for extra blanquet... None was available. Children are not supposed to take any breakfast without extra.... More

Booked this hotel via Agoda which gave us very good rates. Was pleasantly surprised to see it was very near the JR Akabane station which made going around Tokyo so convenient. There were also a lot of convenience stores around. The hotel offered good amenities. The only thing I didn't like was the smell of the room. Unfortunately, we booked... More

This hotel was good we booked 4 nights there as we wanted to be close to Tokyo but for a good price. It wasn't that close to actual Tokyo but train station was literally behind the hotel. From the train station it took about 15/20 minutes into Tokyo possibly a bit longer depending where you wanted to go. The room... More

This hotel is located at about 2 minutes walk from the JR station Akabane which will lead you straight to many spots : shinjuku, Tokyo station, shibuya, etc. The room is not very big but very clean and quiet. Trust the Japanese to be thoughtful and thorough in making sure guests enjoy the rooms. The hotel must have personally used and tried out the rooms and given input to enhance the user experience. Thoughtful gestures like a fabric deodorizer, shoehorn and trousers press near the door shows that the hotel does not scrimp in making sure guests' needs are... More

We couldn't find a budget hotel room in the city centre during the autumn leafs season, therefore we went to this hotel which is at the edge of city, around 15-mins away from Ikebukuro by train. Staying in Akabane / Itabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Akabane / Itabashi
In Akabane and Itabashi, visitors can get a glimpse of the ordinary day-to-day life of Tokyo. On the east side of Akabane station, there are many traditional shopping districts and small izakayas, while on the west side, there’s a modern shopping mall. Itabashi is currently being developed as a residential area with a huge 1.1km long shopping street that extends from east to west. Rows of shops and izakayas target the down to earth everyday needs of locals. Both Akabane and Itabashi are notable for their easy access to the city center as well as their proximity to Ikebukuro.
