The location of this hotel is a winner if you’re travelling by train. It is literally metres from the station and was an absolute godsend for us hot and weary travellers. All the Akihabara sights were within walking distance and it provided a great taste of the bustling, modern side of Japan. Yes, the room was very snug, but it’s... More

Size is a luxury in Japan where hotels are concerned. More often than not size are compensated with location, price or service. Akihabara Washington is just next to the Akihabara Station and within walking distance to the shopping malls, anime havens and good restaurants.

This is a typical business hotel at an outstanding location right next to Akihabara station. Tiny rooms good only for a solo traveler. OK breakfast and meal options. But the location compensates for everything. Try the excellent restaurants at Chomp Chomp and Hotel Remm across the street.

Comfortable stay. Its in a very convenient location near the JR station & subway too. lots of amenities nearby and so no worries on getting food & last minute stuff from 7 eleven or Family Mart. There is also a cafe within the shopping part of the REMM hotel and it starts at 7am, so it's convenient for those who... More

Nice hotel in superb location next to Akihabara Train station in an area of every convenience. Typical Japanese business type hotel and rooms are of decent size of this kind of hotels. Modern hotel with Japanese style facilities including ironing, tea/coffee, bidet in toilette. Staff attitude is good but most do not really speak English in an efficient way for... More

Average hotel with very small rooms - we had to book something at the last minute and this was available. The rooms are a little too small for what we needed (two adults & a child). Close to everything and service was good.

Like most hotel rooms in the area, it's small, functional and probably all you need if you're visiting the Akihabara area. My room was on the 4th floor, facing the Kanda River. It was quiet, clean, met the requirement of a two night stay, that was close to the train station, and the Akihabara businesses. The air conditioning control was... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and I think it's pretty no frills as well as a convenient location for both businessman or couple on a holidays. Rooms are pretty big for an average Japanese hotel as the bathroom as a bathtub and standing shower combined into one. The hotel is directly next to akihabara station so just simply the road... If you're staying in Akihabara, in my opinion, there are no place better than this one. Just 1 minute away from Akihabara Station-Central Exit. Objectively, there's also one hotel just across Washington, it's located above Atre mall where they have MUJI & UNIQLO inside. But to me, a much easier in/out of the hotel is more well achieved in Washington... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
