Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Akihabara Washington Hotel on two separate occasions during my most recent trip to Japan.
To start the review, I want to point out how helpful they were with one certain request of mine. During my trip, I planned a 3 day detour to Kyoto, and wasn't looking forward to the idea of taking 2 large suitcases onto the shinkansen. So I asked the staff if it was okay to leave these 2 bags at the hotel on check out as I would be back to check in again 3 days later. No problem at all! They happily stored my luggage for me whilst I was in Kyoto, and that was a huge weight of my shoulders (literally).
As for the rest of the stay, the staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. The room, bathroom and bed was a good enough size for my needs.
The location of the hotel was also perfect. Within walking distance of Akihabara Station (Yamanote Line, Chuo Line & Keihin Tohoku Line) and Akihabara Subway Station (Hibiya Line), you had easy access to the rest of Tokyo, the shinkansen, etc.
There were also plenty of convenience stores, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, etc nearby and of course, Akihabara itself!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Akihabara Washington Hotel and I look forward to staying again in 2025 (Hopefully start getting this trip booked within the next 4-6 months).

Overall we were really happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was great. The hotel is in a fantastic location only a minutes walk from Akihabara station which is great because it’s on the Yamanote line. The breakfast buffet was lovely with a great choice . If we ever return to Tokyo we will definitely stay again.

Third time at this hotel. Although the room now looks a little aged, it was clean, comfortable and functional. The view from our room was good. Beds were good. It is very well located a few steps from the JR Akihabara station. Lots of stores nearby. Many places to eat too. This time we didn't have breakfast at the hotel but there's a Denny's on the 2nd floor with reasonable prices. Staff very courteous and efficient. Will definitely stay again.

Great location, a few steps from the station, lots of restaurants around and tons of shopping close by. Rooms are small but this is probably common in Tokyo. Staff is great very kind, this is my third stay at this hotel and I will definitely choose it for my next stay

It’s really a lousy hotel after covid. Pre-covid, the staff is nice, friendly & helpful and I have stayed here more than 5 times. Post covid, all changed. I have requested a non-smoking room but still given a smoking room. Went down & argue with the reception & request to see the manager. But the manager don’t even want to talk to me. In the end, the reception unwillingly gave me a non-smoking room. Very disappointed.

We stayed at the Akihabara Washington from 2/1/07 - 7/1/07 and it was excellent.
Of course the rooms were smaller than what we were used to the semi double bed room that we booked turned out to be a very spacious queen size with a fair amount of room to walk around, place our 4 pieces of luggage and there was even a small dining table and a chair.
The bathroom was all plastic and quite small but easy shared by two people and it kind of fit in with the vibe and nature of Akihabara.
The room was on a non smoking floor as requested and it was between two fire exits so we had no noise or disturbances. from other rooms. But everyone is Japan was so polite that i don't think we would have been disturbed even if we were placed in a room next to occupants.
In the room there was a lcd tv, mini bar fridge, a working table with adequate lighting, closet, mirror and the above mentioned dinning table and chair. Plus the window could be opened quite far so it was great looking from 8 levels up.
The free internet was also great as we brought along a laptop but there is also some computer terminals set up in the lobby if you didn't bring one with you.
Our bed and room was made and cleaned everyday and we rarely ever saw the cleaning staff. The were very efficient and fast, we left the room at 8am and when we came back at 10am to drop off some shopping our room was nice and clean again.
The staff at reception knew enough English so that we could ask for anything we wanted and to converse to without any problems.
Handing in the key everytime we went out was easy and great for us as we didn't want to carry it around or lose it. Then to get the key back all we had to do was show our ID or just repeat our names so it was all very simple.
The breakfast buffet served was packed with many choices from rice, fish to more westernised dishes such as scrambled eggs and toast.
Also the convenient store located under the hotel that was open 24/7 was full of everything we wanted and needed at anytime of day or night.
On the last day we were in Akihabara we asked the hotel to mind our bags while we finished the last of our shopping and everything was simple and easy. They give you a tag which corresponds to your luggage which you hand back when you're ready to leave.
All in all, a great place to stay within close distance to the major places and sights we wanted to visit Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinyuku and Harajuku.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and have been in 3 different rooms. First of all, get onto the top floor, 13F, if you can. The entire floor is non-smoking.
Secondly, be aware the single/semi-double rooms are tiny, but quieter than the twin rooms at the back. On the other hand, the twin rooms at the back of the hotel are bigger, but the train noise might be bothersome.

The location is perfect. Close to shops, restaurants and a very central train station (Akihabara). The rooms are clean, have all you need, however the rooms are very small for a western traveler. Beside the bed you don't have much room left and there are no closets, so you have to store your clothes in your bags. (This room size is typical for Tokyo.) Make sure you get a room towards the little river or the station. The ones on the sides face the wall of the next building. They serve a very tasty breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese food. The service is very nice and friendly.

Stayed 4 nights. Location is superb, only around 100 m from Akihabara Train Station. Surrounded by lots of eatery and shops. Rooms are a bit small, but still spacious enough considering that most hotel rooms in Japan are rather small. Bathroom has shower and bathtub where you can soak in, relaxed your body and feet after a whole day walking.
I did not book the bfast since there are plenty of eatery opens 24 hours within walking distance. In Japan, just grab a sandwich in any of the mini markets (7-11, Family Mart, etc), they have hot and cold take away meals and drinks at a cheap price but quality is good. Or, try the Eby Fillet at Mc D.
Standard amenities are available free of charge, free wifi with good connection speed.
Will definitely stay here again and again.

I have always booked the room with breakfast. I think you can also pay separate at the restaurant or the front desk of the hotel. (The entrance is right beside the front desk.) The price is JPY 1800, which is very reasonable for what it is.
