Kanda, Akihabara, Ochanomizu
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

We were looking for a hotel that was in a bit of a quieter area of Tokyo and came across this option (not many options available during golden week). We were pleasantly surprised. For the cost, it was great! Clean and convenient; great staff who were very helpful. Rooms are small but excellent layout (automan chairs store below side desk — every space is filled with something useful!..— and of course you will have all the amenities like with every Japanese Hotel (I cant believe they would throw and the slippers every day and give new ones — I found it a bit wasteful!). The location isn’t amazing — homeless living in the park and bridge close by (they are harmless!) and the hotel is right on the freeway (but we couldn’t hear any noise!) but if you’re not bothered by that kind of thing then it is just fine! The walk from kanda station is very short and pleasant!

Stayed here for five nights whilst visiting Tokyo for part of our fourteen night holiday to Japan. A good location 5 mins from metro and JR Kanda stations. Smallish room but clean and comfortable, room was cleaned every day amenities were good although we did buy our own tea bags and milk from shop next door as only green tea and two breakfast teabags are supplied daily. Toiletries supplied, also pjs which were fresh every day. A great service supplied by hotel was the luggage forwarding service which we used as we were spending two nights away after Tokyo before spending four nights in Kyoto and we didn't want to lug our large suitcases around. The staff were very helpful in arranging pick up and filling in required forms in Japanese for us, we left our large luggage with Mystays hotel after we checked out and arranged for it to be delivered to our Kyoto hotel two days later, and like clockwork as we checked in to our Kyoto hotel there was our luggage waiting in our room! We would recommend this hotel as the price was very competitive compared to hotels next to Tokyo station but just as convenient.

The staff were polite and helpful, room was very clean. I wish the mystay chain would offer coffee as well as tea. Location is within a five minutes walk to the train station. Perfect for people who want to use it as a base for sleeping.

My husband and I just stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in a standard double room and would happily stay here again. The room was quite small, but it was cosy and cleaned daily. We don't travel with too much luggage and only spend evenings at hotels anyway, so the lack of space was not a problem for us. The bed was comfortable and long enough for taller people (I'm 5,11") and there are loan pyjamas in the room if needed. The water pressure in the shower is amazing and we made a note of the brand of shampoo/conditioner provided as our hair has never looked so nice! There is a Family Mart on the corner of the street which we used to stock up on water and snacks. The room has a small fridge, microwave and kettle, and it is also possible to get pizza delivered here from a particular company (although we didn't try this). There are communal laundry facilities and a vending machine (hot and cold drinks) downstairs. The hotel is next to a 6 carriageway main road with a flyover, so there is some white noise from the traffic but this wasn't loud enough to disturb our sleep. The hotel is in a great location, within comfortable walking distance (for us, anyway!) of Ochanomizu, Akihabara, Ginza, The Imperial Palace, Asakusa, Ueno. There are also subway/train stations nearby if you want to go further afield. The staff are very friendly and professional and speak English well. It was also possible for us to have our Ghibli tickets and JR Pass Exchange vouchers delivered to the hotel prior to our arrival. We found the hotel offered more than we expected for the price and we would highly recommend it.
