I got married 2 weeks ago and my wife and I decided to go to Japan in the honneymoon. I know that these kind of hotels are not the best ones for impressing your recent wife, but we had to adapt to the budget we got. I'm impressed in a very negative way, about this hotel. The room is not... More

I like the MyStays chain and always choose it if I get the chance, It's pretty much the basic business hotel, but they have managed to make it feel a bit more upscale. This hotel was recently redone so now is a good time to stay here. Prices are good and the rooms feel and smell new. The rooms are... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel MyStays with our 6 month old baby, and found everything to be very suitable. It's like a 3-3.5 star limited hotel, so they did not have things like cribs or baby amenities, or even a larger room with 2 double beds, but we found it practical for our needs. The room is... Stayed here in april 2016, perfect location for our first trip to Tokyo. Very clean, well priced, and friendly service. Would stay here again if I'm lucky enough to return to Tokyo. 5min walk from electric town, 10min walk from Kanda.

Simple 3 to 4 star hotel with basic amenities like towels, soap, tea etc all readily available. Rooms are decent for tokyo city standards. Very near 3 stations, ochanomizu, Akihabara and ogawamachi, making it a very accessable hotel to get into and out of the major places like ginza, shibuya and shinjuku. I would like them to commend them for... More

Room was small, but clean. Overall an acceptable place to stay in Tokyo at a price point that we could afford. The front desk staff is as helpful as they can be, but as it's not a more upscale hotel, you'll be directed to Kinko's if you want to make reservations online or print out a boarding pass. The staff's... More

Yes, the room isn't very big... no drawers or closet, just hangers on the wall. But: comfortable bed and memory-foam pillows, very fast no-hassle Internet, good shower, and even the room lighting is good. Friendly desk staff. Great location near multiple metro lines/stations and the Akihabara Electric Town. Would be happy to stay here again.

One week spent at this hotel. Very good location to discover Tokyo and clean. Very small room and bathroom for the single room type. So just enough for who just want to sleep there. Very good price for the area. Not very English speaking personal. Breakfast just sufficient but not expensive. Conclusion : good price and location for the minimum... More

Checked in this hotel on 3/21/16 and stayed for 9 nights. We used this hotel as our base hotel while we traveled all over Japan. Good service, fast check in and out. The room is small but livable. Great location and walking distance to a few train stations. We mainly used the Akihabara station and used the green Yamanote Line... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
