Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.

Just a bit too far away from nearest train station if you have luggage with you, value for money for family, friendly staff, location near a street with a lot of food stall, just take note the minimart and food stall around here close around 21:00

We really had a great experience in this hotel. It is very well located, near metro and JR Nippori and Nishi Nippori train stations (walking distance from both). Near many 24 hour stores (they let you bring food to the hotel and use restaurant tables to eat). The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Yanaka Ginza shopping street is 2 blocks from the hotel, this is a beautiful walk to do. Breakfast is good, rooms are not big but very clean and tidy, as well as shared bathrooms. But above everything employees in this hotel are the best! They are always willing to help and give advice. We had some issues with a delivery from Amazon and my husband even forgot his bag in the train! But a boy in the hotel was there to help us and solve our problems: THANK YOU DAISUKE!! We will never forget how you helped us. We loved Japan, its people and how we felt in this hotel. I would definitely come back!

I stayed here during a holiday, and it's a wonderful place to stay if you're here for a brief time. (i.e less than a working week or a few days). The futons are simplistic but comfortable, and as someone who has frequent insomnia, I couldn't remember a better night of sleep in such a small and simple space. The hotel itself is quite clean, and the staff is always polite and willing to help. I thought it might be louder, with how small it was and how there were quite a few people staying there, but it was actually really quiet and peaceful inside. There wasn't anything lacking, and it met all my needs as accommodation. Any other hotel of this price would have had free wi-fi as it's (only) highlight. But because of the already stellar experience, it only added to it. If I ever visit this part of Japan again in the future, I'll be sure to stay here!

Sakura Hotel Nippori was a great place to stay for our study abroad trip. The staff was friendly and able to accommodate our language barriers. I found the rooms to be fairly comfortable and affordable, making my experience overseas better.

Dear guest, Thank you for staying with us and your review! We are very happy that you have enjoyed both our hotel and Tokyo. In the coming years, Tokyo especially our Nippori area will be growing and a lot is expected to change drastically as we have the Olympic game in 2020. If you have a chance to visit Japan in future, please allow us to serve you again. We would like to share practical tips for everything about Japan (culture, cuisine, etc) Until then we wish you much happiness and your well being.

Good accommodation for price/quality value. Overall quiet place and located in a typical Japanese area relatively close to the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast, though not included, was tasty and "all you can eat". The bathrooms (not private) were quite clean and organized. They included towels and shampoos. The space and ambience of the hotel was comfortable with a separate smoking area. The room was bit spacious. For 4 people we did not have room to open the suitcases without being on the bed, only to store them in the closet. The beds were a little hard. Being futons, the cushioning was not enough to avoid feeling the hardness of the floor. The room light though strong was little relaxing. The balcony although included was not very clean. Would stay in this accommodation again mainly for the quiet location and clean conditions.

Dear sergiomgdias , Thank you for staying with us and your review! We are very happy that you have enjoyed both our hotel and Tokyo. As you mentioned, our neighbor so called Yanesen is incredibly worth visiting as there are a lot of local food shops and atmospheric cafes besides cats on the street if you were lucky... And we feel sorry that the futon bedding in the room could not accommodate you well, because of its' thinness. We decided to replace it near future thanks for your advise. If you have a chance to visit Japan in future, please allow us to serve you again. We would like to share practical tips for everything about Japan (culture, cuisine, etc) Until then we wish you much happiness and your well being. Best wishes,
