We came with our twin toddlers to escape from the city. It was perfect. Our kids loved running around in the big garden and our room had a little alcove where we could put their cribs. The rooms were also separated from each other so no one could really hear our kids screaming or crying, when they did that. We...

We returned to Lunahuana after twenty years, looking for some sunshine and relaxation away from Lima. Initially a little anxious that we may have to share the countryside with a lot of thrill seeking vacationers, we needn't have worried. The refugio does what it says on the tin. A real refuge away from it all. We had high expectations of...

A truly magical place. Fernando the owner knows so much about the history of Peru and incorporates his passion for the lost secrets of Peru into his exquisite cuisine. We were just passing through for lunch and ended up spending the whole day there walking around the fruit and botanical garden, taking with Fernando, trying his gorgeous cocktails made from...

This place is a gem, tucked in against the hills in a quiet location. Room was comfortable, grounds are incredible. The owner is very friendly and will answer all of your questions and explain his ecological operations and spend an incredible amount of time with you if you like. He speaks very good English, which makes it easy if you...

The owner Fernando was an expert botanist and will blow your mind with his knowledge of ingenious plants in Peru. The food we ate was by far the best in all of Lunahuana. As good or better than the top restaurants in Lima, served with plants and herbs from his garden. His hospitality was excellent. He took the time to...

Being born and raised in Peru I am proud to be able to say that everything served at Santiago's is authentic, true to its roots. My family and I vacationed through Lunahuana, and after a day of white river rafting we worked out an appetite. The atmosphere here is peaceful, serene. The food, to me personally, felt like an ambrosia...

Stayed here for one night on the way to Vinac, great place to stay and relax. The food is really good and uses a lot of the herbs from the large garden. Stayed here for a 4d Peruvian long holiday weekend with our kids and our friends and their kids. Friends of ours asked if we would like to join them for a weekend in Lunahuana. It was one of those places on my to-do list for Peru. They told us we would be staying at Refugio De Santiago. I went onto the website and had a look and liked what it had to offer. It promised me sun, relaxation...

“Ones farthest from restaurant are quieter.”

“The rooms are really like little houses. Tell them that you would prefer your own bathroom and maybe lounge area if you so wish but the entire place is really very comfortable. If you are a big group and want to stay for longer then request the section that has own bar facility if you would like to have a drink after the kitchen close but otherwise it is really all like being at home.”
