Antico Casale is beautifully situated on the edge of town in a rural location. Gorgeous views surrounded by farmland. Our hosts were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We understood that it was walking distance to the town. Whilst technically it is and we did so on the first night, I wouldn't recommend the walk home along unlit lanes with no footpaths. Well positioned for outings to Pisa, Florence & Cinque Terre etc. An affordable apartment which was basic but comfortable. It was an apartment for 3 but only really suited for 2 as the sofa bed was in the dining room. Main bed was wonderfully comfortable. Kitchen was very basic. No kettle was provided, however we requested one and the hosts happily provided one. Only a small thing but the only cups available were espresso cups which weren't suitable for a cup of tea. Again the host obliged and went as far as to tell us to keep them as a souvenir. Pool and grounds were wonderful - secluded and peaceful. The weekend functions whilst lovely to see could be quite noisy. Whilst we understood and wouldn't want to spoil their fun, the celebrations ran on quite late and 1 night I was woken up at 12:30 am by the music. Breakfast was relaxed and pleasant. Loved the different croissant and yoghurt varieties, though it did become a bit repetitive. Wouldn't really consider self catering in such a limited kitchen. Sadly the restaurant wasn't open to guests so you need to go out for food. This was a good place which could be great with some tweaks. Kettles as standard would be an improvement and also the inclusion of outdoor furniture for the veranda. We had just 1 chair by the door. It's the little things that make a big difference.

We stayed here on route to Rome and were delighted with the cleanliness and peace of it's location. Breakfast was included and had wide variety of choice which made for a very very economical stay. The bedrooms while quite basic have self catering facilities which we didn't need but a big plus was they are pet friendly and don't charge extra for your dog which we have found in other hotels. On departure we also received a little gift of local product from the owners - a ver nice touch.

Really nice hotel in Sarzana, quiet, clean, nice breakfast and beautiful rooms but a bit far from the center and so no bar and restaurant really near. I recommend it if youre by car, nice place to stay for few days and if you need a still place.

My room was nice and did have a kitchen which I didn't need but could be convenient. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was adequate but not special. The grounds are nice with an attractive pool. There is a restaurant, but it wasn't open the night I was there, a Thursday.

As already written, located in the countryside, is recommendable to use a satnav (we struggled to find it); once located, everything gets easier to visit the area attractions; castles, marble caves, Cinque Terre... We had the Giocondo apartment; it reminded of another lodgement we stayed months ago not far from here but this is much nicer (and newer!) At the entrance, sitting or lying area if wanted; ground floor the living area: couch convertible bed with flat-screen tv, cabinet, kitchenette complete with fridge, dishes, pots and pans; upstairs the bathroom and bed, in a few words simple, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is served in the main building by the entrance; a serve-yourself complete with the classics (croissants, bread, marmalade, cheeses, etc.) and well equipped with coffee-making machine and toaster. There is a pool (but was empty when we stayed there) very large and well equipped changing rooms, showers, children playground and bbq areas. There is a restaurant too but was closed maybe because of the winter season. Service was very good; they waited us (we arrived late night); when in the apartment, the tv didn't work, call the reception and quickly a guy came to replace it. If plan to go back to Sarzana, this is a place that I'll give a remind for another stay.
