The lodge was spectacular and the service was great! The guides as well were amazing!
Also I'm lactose intolerant and they made all these extra treats just for me! I really recommend this place for people with food allergies.
We spent 4 days at Marataba and didn't want to leave!
Our guide, Adam, was brilliant. With him, we got to experience the unique environment from the open top jeep and on foot, see wildlife up close and personal and learn much much more than...More
We are a uber discerning family and we loved everything about Marataba. Right from the time we arrived at the Lodge to the time we departed we with treated with such warmth, kindness and friendship like one would expect from family. The ubiquitous Yolandi, runs...More
Great accomodation except for "sealing" off of air at bottom of tent. But great company (New Zealanders), excellent ranger- knowledgeable and respectful of the environment. Food quality good. Would go back again.

We were there in April, its was an amazing experience, however it was cold when going on the drives as you are leaving early in the morning (sunrise), as well as late afternoon (dusk). I would definitely recommend taking hats, gloves, warm jackets & pants on your drives. Marataba do supply blankets for your drives. During the day was pleasant but not hot enough to swim in the pool.
I hope this helps with planning your trip.

we were there for 3 nights and managed to see the big 5 numerous times and a leopard. I would definitely go to marataba,, the landscape is stunning . Our guide also stated that in marataba you could watch e.g the lions for as long as you liked/wanted and not be moved on in your truck as you may well be in kruger with more trucks queuing up to view the animals,I would not have liked that! We really felt alone with our viewings and not once rushed which is an important aspect on safara.
