A great concept! Restructuring old, earthquake damaged structures and reviving an old hamlet and keeping it alive integrating tourist accommodation into a living village. You have to love walking stairs as it is basically a vehicle free village. Friendly staff (Melissa and Pamela are very helpful in reception). We had a two storey suite with fully equipped kitchen and two... More

This is a completely different style of accommodation. The medival village of Scheggino revived. There is a reception area, an all the apartments which vary in size are spread throughout the village. It is very well set up and the apartments can be found going up steps and through variuous alley ways. If you are looking for something different then... More

If you are looking for a unique experience, then this is IT! The hotel consists of houses that are in the small town of Scheggino. Walking up and down the stairs of the town to get to the "room" is an experience that cannot be replicated. You feel a part of the town which is small, beautiful, and offers total... More

We wanted something unique and authentic, so on our way from Florence we stated for 2 nights at Antica. Very picturesque location in between the mountains in a beautiful medieval village of Sheggino, beautifully maintained and preserved. Nice windy road from top of the hill down to the river was so touching - seeing cute ancient houses lovingly decorated with... More

We are so glad we stayed at Antica Torre del Nera. Our extended family occupied two apartments: the large Casa di Franculini, and the small Casa di Veneranda. The large eat-in kitchen and spacious dining area in the former meant that we spent most of our waking time at home there, but the smaller apartment has two well-positioned balconies that... More

Our first impressions were excellent. The trip up to the room was very entertaining on the back of an electric golf cart. The rooms are within what looks to be a restored tower overlooking the small village below. The apartment had a well equipped kitchen area and had a mezzanine floor with a bed and a small sitting area. We... More

A beautiful place to stay outside Spoletto; part of a charming little village. The staff was hospitable and organized and the rooms were well furnished like upscale apartments. Highly recommend!

As visitors to Umbria from Australia we would highly recommend a stay in Scheggino at Antica Torre del Nero. Scheggino makes a great centre. It is 15 minutes easy drive from Spoleto, less than an hour from places like Norcia and Assisi. It is a beautful little medieval village on the River Nera with marked walking trails leading out of... Residence Antica Torre del Nera is a "scattered hotel" built in the medieval village of Scheggino, in Valnerina, the green heart of Umbria. Antica Torre del Nera is just a few kilometers away from the renowned and beautiful Marmore Falls, from the Longobard town of Spoleto and from Norcia, well-known for its delicatessen. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and one or more bedrooms (Junior Suites, Senior Suites and Superior Suites), wood-burning fireplace and independent heating. The furnishings are of great value: antique furniture, decorated walls, wooden ceilings and terracotta floors, make a wonderful outfit in this stunning setting. The suites are located on a single street, called "Via Capolaterra", overlooking the village and their view wanders among the green hills of Valnerina, the square of Scheggino and the Nera River that flows slowly a few steps away offering our guests a pleasant wellness holiday in Umbria.
