A nice resort with Japanese tatami rooms. Nice onsen with an outdoor bath (rotenburo). Great breakfast buffet in a large room to accommodate tour groups. A ramen shop opens 9 at night. WI-FI in the lobby only.

Quite old built onsen hotel, but nevertheless provides good service, comfortable tatami rooms, and lovely onsen baths - especially for winter. The meals served are also wonderful. Definitely good for staying.

Nice "Moro" onsen hotel nestled in a slew of properties on the Tokachi River, not too far from Obihiro. The baths are above average and compare favorably with a neighboring hotel that is charging more this summer. Celebrating its 60th year, Daiheigen's claim to fame - and image - appear to be a morning hot air balloon opportunity, but there... More

This was my first experience in a Ryokan, which is what they call a traditional Japanese hotel and in literature they had in the room, this is a way to experience the true and traditional Japan through the unique and subtle beauty of Japanese culture. Complimentary green tea fixings were in beautiful lacquer ware boxes, and two beautifully wrapped Japanese... More

An old build hotel, lower clerance with many room and less lift, with tatami room, warm winter. The dinner and the breakfast also great. Local vegetable, seafood, and also high quality local beef. May visit wine factory takachi ikeda with best graoe juice and local best wine ans brandy.

Overall, Tokachigawa is a quiet place, not easy to find night life here. But the onsen in the hotel will definitely kill your time. This hotel provide both indoor and outdoor onsen. This is the 1st time I stay in an Onsen hotel, this give me a very good experience. The water of the onsen here will really makes your... More

The theme of this place is balloons. I think they have a hot air balloon festival twice a year at this hotel. I went in the winter so I missed any hot air balloon activity. The onsen here is supposedly plant based, and different from the other onsens in Japan. It was pretty good but it's hard to say if... More

Thinking it's a hot spring small town, but actually it's a small town with lots huge hotels. You can't find street with shops, just local people only. Just like visit a countryside. We take direct shuttle bus from airport to here, the transportation is convient. Dinner/breakfest is nice too, people are friendly. Though hotel is not very new, but it's... More

Stayed for a night in March 2012 and it was great. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by 3 friendly front desk staff who speaks reasonably english and even went the extra mile in escorting us to the room and explaining in detail every single amenity and usage of the various appliances within the room. We booked a... More
