The rooms and common areas are very comfortable and pretty and the entire building is modern but appealing. What was really off in this parador (and I've been to quite a few in the last years) was the service both at dinner which I reviewed separately on the restaurant page and the breakfast. This happened last sunday, october 30th. I... More

Bedroom/bathroom excellent very clean and comfortable but the food was very poor. Not much choice at breakfast and dinner. Food and orange juice were not replaced when serving dishes/ orange container were empty.

As senior Pilgrims walking on the Camino de Santiago, we needed a good rest, a good shower, and a good meal. This is the only Parador on the route we were walking so we gave ourselves an unpilgimlike treat. This Parador is not located in an historic building and is rather plain compared to some. We were welcomed and given... More

Easy to find, signposted, lots of free parking. This is a modern Parador with a few faux fittings to make it look older than it is. The room was clean and solid with a view over a courtyard to hill. Very quiet at all times. The small pool was lovely with views over the hills. It should be said that... More

Arrived at 4pm after walking 20 miles on Camino in 35 c to be to told our room was not ready. Rather unfriendly receptionist who was certainly not going to go the extra mile!! Room comfortable with good facilities, but overall very overpriced and impersonal. Breakfast was not particularly good.

A very comfortable and friendly parador. Well situated near the town centre and for touring the this area of Spain. The breakfast is excellent and the waitresses friendly and efficient. Only fault is a lack of available sunbeds when the hotel is busy and the small pool is very cold!

If you are walking the Camino then this is a real treat for a nights sleep. If you are driving around this part of Spain you could base yourself here for a couple of days and see Ponsferrada castle and other towns. Beds very comfortable, fab bathrooms, great breakfast and service . No problems with interenet and wifi.

Always try and find a Parador when I'm traveling. Makes any trip exceptional, even if the building itself is not historical. What I liked about the this parador was the attention received by the members of the staff. And there were no exceptions. Will certainly recommend this parador to any one traveling in this region.

This was different from our other Parador hotels, in that it is new and not associated with an historic building/site. It was a little off the Camino but no great distance. We were greeted with warmth by the receptionist and quickly checked into our room 221. The room was very modern and spacious. Lots of room for luggage. There was... More

We had an easy walk from Ponferrada and arrived a little bit early but there was no problem in letting us into our room. We enjoyed the comfortable lounge while the room was made ready. Our room was very comfortable and had a nice bathroom. As several others have noted the wifi was not working. I went to the main... More
