#6 of 9 hotels in Albarracin
Hotel Albarracin, baptised with the same name as the city, is located in the Palace of Brigadiera, in the heart of the Albarracin mountains, in the province of Teruel, where the old Banu Razin used to be in Muslim times, a monumental place considered by many as the most beautiful town in Spain. The hotel is located at the beginning of the medieval city of Albarracin, which allows for an easy access by car and gives half of the rooms in the hotel the best views of the walled city. From the hotel upwards, the whole legacy of the city begins.

This hotel is quaint, faded with spectacular views. Staff was uneven from very helpful to diffident and uninterested. Our major disappointment is that wifi does not work with Apple products. One receptionist said it had been like that for a few months at least. At least he tried to help. Another staff member tried to charge extra for a breakfast already included. She was unabashed when shown the receipt that included breakfast. Towels could use refreshing (thin). But the location is excellent and fine for a night.

Old but that is part of its charm. Very clean room and a view that is hard to beat If you get a panorama room. The staff don't speak english but wasn't a problem. Albarracin was really quiet. At 19:00 a clock just one or rwo bar/restaurants open and we saw lots of them in the village.

It was -6 when we stayed in Albarracin for the night. However the room was very warm and cosy with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a decent size with a big walk-in shower. We had our 4 month old puppy with us and there was plenty of floor space for him and his bed without him getting under our feet when we were all in the room. We had never been to Albarracin before and only stopped there for one night on route to Santander - it was the first dog-friendly hotel we found on booking.com. But I am so glad we found it because it is one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever been too. It’s so picturesque and we ended up spending half the day there the following day. Definitely worth a visit!

Perhaps not a good day...., staff very preoccupied with what appeared to be a private function. Children chasing each other around, no staff in the bar ( the harassed receptionist had to oblige). Big difference between pets allowed and pet friendly, the latter they definitely were not. Very frosty reception to our two well behaved dogs but they were happy to charge €10 each dog. The room was tiny, clean and functional and the food was good. Despite the wonderful setting and views there is nowhere to sit outside and the pool area is closed other than July/August. Very shabby but could be made into a fabulous outside seating area. Due to a local celebration of bull fighting, the main village square had been transformed into a makeshift bullring with bullfighting to take place the next day. We were told parking was in a public car park accessed via very steep steps, great fun with luggage and two dogs! However, the following morning whilst checking out I heard the receptionist (a different one) say to a fellow Spanish guest he could of course park outside the hotel. She probably didn't realise I understand Spanish. The worst was the noise...all night people walking around the village blowing horns ...nightmare. Couldn't wait to leave the next day. In the hotel's defence, they did warn us by email they couldn't guarantee a quiet time due to the village fiesta, but we didn't realise how bad it would be and that our being there appeared to be an inconvenience. To summarise, very pretty (a bit creepy) possibly a different atmosphere on another day....

Lovely view from room of the old town. Very nice staff who don't speak fluent English but enough to work things out. Note free parking is 5-10mins walk up the hill to the hotel. Great value option in the old town.
