We've stayed here before and were delighted to discover the rooms have been redecorated. The electric blinds help to get a great night's sleep. The staff are all extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The location is great for a very short walk on to a very long beach. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance (about 20 mins) and there is a tram stop about 10 mins away which enables you to get to Alicante if you want a larger town. Surprised the hotel is rated 3* we will definitely be returning again.

This was is our first time in Alicante and we will definitely come back to the Almirante. The hotel is comfortable and not too big. It has a lovely pool area but is also right by the San Juan beach. We decided not to hire a car (even though there is tree parking) so used the public transport. The Costa Blanca tram is a 5min walk from the front door of the hotel which is really handy. If you get a 'mobilis' travel card your trips work out even cheaper than normal. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely pool facing balcony (nice to relax in after a day out) and we opted for a room with a fridge and coffee making facilities. We only ate in the hotel the first morning and the breakfast was excellent, but we like tapas and little cafes so ate out all the time, but the dining room looked great. We will definitely be back.

I stayed here for two nights. This hotel is lovely, nice and clean and looks quite new. Very minimalistic Scandinavian style throughout the hotel, and the rooms. The rooms are quite basic, but pristine, and very relaxing. Having the balcony out the large patio doors from the bedroom is lovely! Bathroom spotless, with a bath tub and shower. You can see the beach from your balcony, I was on the 2nd floor. Nice and quiet at this time of year. I took a taxi from the centre of Alicante, cost me just over 12 Euros. Took the tram on the way back. There is a supermarket and cafes to eat 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Other cafes, restaurants and fast food places nearby. I wanted to be out of Alicante city, but very close to it. And this place delivered on that. Only downside to it was the noise on the first morning, pneumatic drill on the concrete outside my room first thing in the morning, then drilling the next morning in the bedroom next-door to mine. It is winter, so I do expect this is the time for maintenance. And that didn't spoil the lovely stay I had here. Great coffee from their cafe/restaurant also, and lovely to sit outside or inside relaxing with it.

This hotel could have four stars but. Their website is not very helpful inasmuch as there is no shuttle service available or indeed any advice on how to get there from the Airport. You are pretty much on your own which for some is a challenge ! There is a bus C6 that will take you to the heart of the city from the Airport (level 2) to (Plaza Luceros)where you can take the tram underground (L3) on to Casa Blanca stop (direction El Campello) from there it is a five minute walk along the Esplanade North until you see the Hotel sign. A basic room should offer a coffee making facility at the very least. There is a coffee bar close by also a well equipped Mercado. The hotel does provide a fridge but I think this is more out of necessity rather than choice as the summer temperatures are extremely hot. If the hotel standardized all of their rooms with basic facilities and a decent sized bar of soap they could compete with the other hotels who are much closer to the centre. The trick is to charge more for those little extras and increase profits but the savvy traveller is wise to this and simply avoids the hotel especially during the Winter months when the beach is deserted. There is truth to the old saying - you get what you pay for !
