Detailed Reviews
Fantastic location and view of the Ocean. Our two bedroom unit was great for three or four adults. The breakfast and dinner buffet was not worth the money they charged. The holiday gala of 90 euros a person was exorbitant!!! Vanessa on the front desk was fantastic. The outside is lacking maintenance repairs to the stucco and sprinkler system.

Disappointed with the hotel that has become a ghost hotel: no welcome, cleaning or charges 50th of +, closed restaurant, indoor pool for a fee, gym for a fee. Unheated outdoor swimming pool and no extra service offered! Pharaoh ants permanently in the kitchen that force to pack everything well. Life is nice from the room and we are quiet because nothing nearby except a coop and a restaurant. You have to take the highway to have a living city!

My wife and I and our 12 year old came back today after a fortnight at La Quinta Park Suites in Tenerife, our first time in the Canaries. We were very pleased with the hotel and the food, considering what we paid for it on the internet. Overall, this hotel is not “prestige” or “luxury” by any imagination, but it was for us great value, and we had most of everything we wanted for a good family break. No beach, but two connected outdoor pools and loads of loungers and parasols around meant you didn’t need to go outside the hotel grounds. We were helped by great weather. Many families staying, so kids could make friends and they would entertain themselves for most of the day in or by the pool. That was the reason we chose the holiday over a villa in the South of France. Well sound proofed rooms meant we had no babies or other noise issues at night time, so I would say the hotel is fine for the child-less wanting some peace and quiet. Some specific comments:
Rooms. Living room (with sofa-bed, which was not comfortable for anyone but very small kids). Bedroom had cheap mattresses, but were just about OK comfort wise. Shame they didn’t use mattress covers. Kitchenette with fridge and cooker very useful to keep beers and fix light baguette lunches. Bathroom was fine, with good shower. Aircon barely worked, but I heard some rooms suffered from over-efficient aircon! Yes the rooms could do with a fresh lick of paint, but it didn’t seem important to us. Maid cleaned our large suite very well daily, including fresh towels, and mopping wooden floors throughout the suite. Large private balcony was great for enjoying evening cocktails before dinner.
Food. Buffet breakfast was execellent. So was the buffet dinner. Great variety of salads, meats, fish, pasta, etc. There was always some stuff on the grill being done in front of you by the chef, such as beef or pork steaks. Really, there was almost too much variety. We paid a mere £5 total per night (internet) for all 3 of us for the half-board option, it was the most amazing value. If you have complaints at that sort of price, you will never be happy. We either drank good wine (Torres red at £5) or local beer (Dorada) and the nightly booze bill at the restaurant was never anything but very reasonable. You either pay cash on your way out of the dining room, or you sign a chit. If you just walk out the dining room without doing either, then yes they will come chasing after you, but they would anywhere else I think. We paid for the lot at the end of our stay, and the restaurant booze bill was 100 euros.
Service. Almost all staff friendly and helpful. Considering the hotel had almost 300 suites, it’s amazing there weren’t more grumpy waiters (there were a few, but they were in a very very small minority, mostly based behind the bar). There were some star waiters and waitresses too, couldn’t do more to please. We made sure they were brought to management’s attention. Most speak English. Almost all spoke German.
Free entertainment in the evenings at the bar. I would rate it good (considering it was free). Parrot show OK for kids, resident couple singers (lot of “Luis Miguel”), some karaoke, bingo nights etc. Hey, if you don’t like it, you can go out and do something else. Remember it’s FREE. Couple of very helpful and friendly ladies next to reception (Marleen and Sandy), who saw to entertainments, made sure rooms were OK etc.
“Bungalow” v. main hotel room. Sandy sorted out our rooms - initially we were moved into a “bungalow” but we had booked a room with air-con so we were moved into the main hotel, which I would recommend (though air-con was feeble). So long as you are off the ground floor, if you are in the main part of the hotel, you can enjoy privacy and feel safe on your own very large balcony for evenings drinks etc. Didn’t bother us that we had an inland looking suite, it was actually quieter during the day and early evening, though the pool/sea facing rooms looked very nice.
Spa. We didn’t use the spa facilies (including the gym and the indoor pool) but in the winter time, I suspect that’s a nice place to go and relax. Kids under 12 are restricted to 1 hour a day in the evening for the indoor pool (coincides with dinner time) but they all seemed too content with the out door pools. They do massage and facials for ladies etc if you are into that sort of thing. Outdoors, there was free table tennis and I saw a couple of pool tables, plus mini golf (subject to small deposit for the clubs).
Lunch – Lunch by the bar was pretty good. Bar prices for drinks very reasonable (same price at night). Pizzas, pasta, steak, salads, (funny) “special” hamburger, paella, etc. at lunchtime, all really cheap. No point going out, especially if you have kids in tow.
Local town. Free shuttle buses between the hotel and Puerto de la Cruz, which we found to be a delightful place. Yes, rather touristy, but still enough of the old Tenerife there that we went there several times. Many many nice lunch places. Good for shopping – jewellery in particular. Many were buying digital cameras etc, due to lower value added tax rate in Tenerife (I think 5%, compared to the EU average of 15-20% VAT).
IN CONCLUSION. We had a great time and we would go back again. But it’s stretching it to say that this is a “prestige” or “luxury” place. However for families, given the spacious, clean suites and great breakfast and dinner, cheap (optional) lunches, free entertainment, outdoor pools and loads of loungers etc, cheap bar prices, the place got 4-stars from us. But this was influenced by what we paid. We were “independent” travellers, having booked flights, hotel, and hire car through a certain world-famous internet travel agency. But some guests we met had gone through a traditional UK tour operator – exactly same deal except you fly with the tour company’s own charter airline – which I think was better because of direct flights, than our schedule flights with connection in Madrid where they lost our luggage on the way back! But if you had booked the holiday through the UK tour company, you would have paid a little over DOUBLE what we paid for the same deal, and they didn’t have the hire-car either (though they had courtesy coach/taxi to/from the “South” airport which is a good 1 hour away) – we had a mid-size car with air-con with insurances etc for the whole of our stay, which was useful for touring the island but it was only used for about 4 days so was a bit of a wasted luxury, but as independent travellers, we like to know our transport is right outside the door. (There were loads of local car hire firms, though offering what appeared to be unsustainable hire charges of £10-15 per day for a small car with no air con). One UK tour operator is listing this hotel in their 2005 “luxury” brochure, I understand. I think if I had paid the UK tour operator’s price, I too would have had some mixed feelings. What we paid was close to (but a touch less than) the hotel’s direct-booking “rack rate”. Just goes to show what a killing the tour operator is making. Do a little homework on pricing and I doubt you will be disappointed.

We spent a week over Easter at La Quinta Park. The hotel is very fresh and clean. We rented a large apartment with 2 rooms and a kitchen with 4 beds and a generous balcony with a view of both the pool area, the sea and Teide. There was a kitchen with a fridge, freezer, stove, microwave and coffee maker. There was daily cleaning. The kids loved the pool which was open 10am-6pm with a lifeguard. Although the hotel is only 5 minutes from the motorway exit, the location is very quiet and peaceful. We would love to stay here again.

I read some bad reviews here before booking, so I didn’t expect much. But it met all my expectations and even more! Great, great views, a big and clean room, great kitchen. I read about the free buses but I didn’t hear anything about them here. but it cost only 3.3 euros for two persons to Puerto de la Cruz, and the same amount back again. The buses was scheduled around 1 time every hour and the last bus was around 10-11 PM. It was just 20 minutes to drive. I did not order breakfast but maybe I should have, very nice restaurant here. It was few people and very quiet. Perfect temperature and a lot of sun even in December!! Over 20 C every day. 12 euros for spa and 6 for gym, but that’s okey. Great pool. A store just outside with all the essentials. We got fresh towels everyday and all the essentials were in the room, even shampoo! Very clean hotel. Bus was 1.5 hour from the airport because of traffic. I am very satisfied because it was a very cheap trip and such good standards. I don’t see where all the bad reviews are coming from. Very good value for the price.

Lovely place, clean apartment and impeccable assistance. A bit isolated and far from the beaches, you have to have the car for everything. But it is worth it if you are looking for a quiet place, still 10 minutes from downtown Puerto de la Cruz and 20 minutes from Stanta Cruz.

Its okey, the location is bad, sketchy area around, poor service at the hotel, nothing is included, very little information. But with that said, its a quiet and relaxing area, with nice rooms, little old.

Fantastic view, good apartment with beautiful balcony. Cleaning is offered daily. Quiet and beautiful surroundings. It is a bit secluded in a residential area, but easy to take the bus to both Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz. Many hiking trails in the area.

We spent a week in november at the hotel. The little house was ok but somewhat ”tired” and old. It is a very calm and quiet place nicely situated with lovely view. During our stay the hotel was un-manned wich was ok, but it also meant lack of information. I would not chose this hotel if I had kids or if I had problems walking. There is only one little suoernaket and one restaurant close by, even if there is only approx 2 kilometres to a a lager shop and restaurant I cannot see it suitable for kids or elderly, the climb up to shop and restaurant is extreemely steep. The pool was ok, not heated snd very cold.

This was our first visit to Tenerife (2 adults plus a 10 year old and a 7 year old). Purchased a Junior Suite (one bed, plus lounge with sofa bed, plus kitchen, plus bathroom) for a week via the internet. This turned out to be an inspired purchase! The hotel is first class in every respect. The staff could not do enough for us, there is entertainment every night if you want that sort of thing and, although we are not great fans of buffet style meals, the food was always fresh and excellent. We were on b & b basis but half board is the most popular choice, and understanably so with the quality of the restaurant (also only one other restaurant within walking distance). There is also a regular, free bus service down to Puerto, the local (rather shabby) town. My wife also had a full 60 minute massage at the renowned spa (within the hotel) for 60 euro.
Although the weather was mixed (early April 2004) and I would not rush back to Northern Tenerife with young children, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel in all respects.

Hello, I am pretty sure that pool towels can be hired. About price I dont know because I took towel from the room.
We just paid €12 per day (€6 each) for the two of us. We thought it was worth it. Good selection, well prepared and great service.
As a guest I think you get one complimentary visit to the indoor spa. Have a good holiday.
