Lovely quirky hotel with lots of character. Great breakfast which you can take inside or on a sunny outside area. Hotel has looks of interesting antiques. They have made maximum use of all their space Room was good with a decent shower. We had room 1, which had a nice outside communal area to take your morning coffee, or a drink in the evening. Room clean each day with fresh towls. Pool towls also provided. wifi in the main building, honesty bar good idea. Staff wonderful The hotel is at the edge of the town, a leisurely walk into the town has some nice restaurants and some great value bars
The Hotel Rural Senderos is a beautiful, quirky finca which the owners have filled with antiques, unique little touches, an orange grove….and a rather grand Dynasty-style family portrait in the dining room. My room felt like I was staying in grandma’s house. I really enjoyed my stay - everyone was friendly and welcoming, breakfast options were good, and they have a nice honesty system for helping yourself to drinks and snacks. The pool and terrace was a lovely extra.
We wanted a hotel that had a local feel away from the busy resorts and as soon as we arrived I realised we had got lucky. Lovely old hotel, charming gardens a little pool and the most hospitable family running it. The two sisters Greci and Yurena could not have been more caring for my family (4 young children) we felt part of their family by the time we left Having young children puts you on tenterhooks regarding disturbing the other guests and no doubt we did a little! However, the owners could not have been more understanding and made us feel very welcome. The turn down service was very very welcome with young children. The town itself in my opinion does not offer a huge amount apart from at least three excellent restaurants that Greci can advise you on.
Situated in a former post office, but it is a very cozy hotel. Family-style furnished. Spacious rooms but with a lot of cracking wooden floors. Our beds were a little bit too weak for our backs (65 yrs of age). Tasty and healthy breakfast. When you don't inscribe for dinner the day before, the choice in available tapas at night is rather restricted. The waiting lady does her best to make you feel comfortable. Still, I didn't like that she gave me the end-bill unspecified and I had to ask her for specification before paying.
The most wonderful hosts in this hotel, happy, helpful and simply charming. The gardens are magnificent and the rooms are regal and comfortable, ours was like something from game of thrones!! Would most likely return but would definitely recommend.
On arrival we got a varm welcome and the lady showed us around the hotel. Our room had its own entrance from the street an a view into the fantastic garden. There is a small swimming pool, a lot of flowers, fruit trees and birds in the garden and this is the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
This hotel is about 20 minutes from the coast , in very much a working Spainish town and a world away from the tower block hotels on the coast, the hotel is a collection linked buildings on multiple levels, in very much a local style. There is a small swimming pool and shady garden complete with parrots and banana trees. Our room was on a small terrace over looking the garden and shared with two other rooms, and we shared conversations and drinks on "our joint terrace" .Breakfast was buffet style with multiple choices. All the staff were charming and friendly, but communication required our basic Spainish or signing in most cases (All the more fun). There is a public parking area 25 m from the hotel and only on one occasion in 11 days was this full, but we found on street parking about 100 m away. I would not recommend this area unless you have a car, there is public transport but it is geared to the needs of people working in the atea. You need to be aware that due to the height above sea level of the town, temperatures can be roughly 5 C lower than the coast, for us this was fine for most of our holiday as it gives a chance to avoid the heat if needed while walking or sightseeing, but it can make for chilly evenings; rooms have heating but it can be cool to sit on a terrace from mid evening. Guests were a mix of British, Dutch and Germans and a sociable crowd, most were looking for an active holiday of sightseeing or walking rather than lying on a beach etc. and the hotel is great for this type of holiday.…
Stayed for a week in February as we wanted something different from the soulless high rise on the coast. The hotel itself is lovely, we had a first floor suite which was enormous with 2 double beds and lots of antique furniture. It was however very cold at night and it took us ages to get to grips with the air con, once on it provided sufficient heat The gardens were lovely and we had breakfast outside everyday, unfortunately because it is significantly higher up than the coast it was at least 5 degrees cooler so we didn’t use the pool, a great advantage in the summer! Basic food provided at dinner, breakfast good Would probably return
Had a great time. Very much a family home. Nothing was too much trouble: On arrival were were offered a choice of rooms, we asked for extra pillows, a room heater (this was November after all) and all "no problem" when coming to settle-up. Breakfast is a cold buffet job - But none the worse for that - bread was fresh (?home?) baked as was the cake. The evening dining experience was unusual - On a slow night, when we were there, grandma had all her friends over for dinner. The menu was limited to well-executed home Spanish cooking. All-in-all fantasic good value for money. Visitors should be aware that the hotel is very close to a church, with a chiming clock - Not an issue for us, but might be for some. Fellow guests came mostly for the mountain walking. However the (free) municipal car-park in front of the hotel helps a lot with a fly-drive.…
Hotel is beautiful, old style rooms and decor are wonderful, staff are friendly and as helpful as possible. Only downsides are no fridges in the room so drinking water goes hot really quickly and breakfast could have been more varied. Very relaxing stay overall though
