Eguzki is a homelike B&B place in Durango, South of Bilbao. The Eguzki B&B is run by Sally, an Englishwoman who will look after your needs in a friendly yet easy-going manner. The rooms are cosy and tidy and have a nice bathroom. After a long day cycling you will have a good sleep there, as the outskirts of Durango are quiet. The best thing about Eguzki takes place the following morning: Sally will bake fresh bread and serve her own marmalade made of figs from a farm nearby. It was the best breakfast we had on our Basque tour and in itself a reason to revisit Sally's place again.
Had a wonderful long weekend here. This is a great base to explore so many interesting things nearby - while here, we climbed the mountain behind the house, visited local markets, and enjoyed many delicious pintxos. The accommodation is special and unique in such a beautiful old house. Breakfast is also very yummy, including homemade banana cake and freshly squeezed orange juice. We even got a ride in Bobby’s TukTuk! Will be back.
We experienced a little bit of trouble finding Eguzki B&B but once we had arrived it was perfect in every way. We were greeted warmly and given a very welcome cup of good English tea. Sally gave us excellent advice regarding the surrounding area and where to eat in the evening. The b&b is in a quiet location with Durango only a five minute drive away. The double room is fairly small but it has a spacious bathroom with all necessary toiletries. We came down to a feast for breakfast, from freshly squeezed orange to the best bread ever. I would not hesitate to recommend Eguzki B&B. So much nicer than an impersonal hotel.
Eguzki B&B is a great place to stay if you want to have accommodations near Etxebarri Restaurant. Located about ten minutes below the famous restaurant, the B&B offers clean and cozy rooms in an old stone farmhouse. Host Sally is warm and welcoming, offering great tips on nearby sites and cooking up a nice breakfast in the morning. You feel more like you are staying in someone's home rather than in a B&B, which is great.
Excellent room with great bathroom, very quiet country location, Great multi lingual hosts, and near to local amenities, and 15 minute walk along country lanes. Lots of information available on the local area, and Basque culture.
