After 5 weeks visiting & traveling the Basque Country, our 2 separate stays at the Lurdeia were definitely among the highlights of the trip. One stay was not enough so we returned! This is an Agro-Eco-Casa Rural - a working organic farm supplying produce to nearby Bermeo, Gernika, Bilbao. You will be greeted and handed your keys by Roberto or...

Unfortunately we were only able to stay at Lurdeia for one night, but it was still one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel is located on an organic farm and is owned and operated by Roberto and his family. Roberto couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly and really made us feel at home. The property is beautiful...

Views from the top of the hill looking out to the Bay and surrounding countryside make this unique country hotel a great introduction to the Basque countryside. A few minutes drive outside of Bermeo but worth it. Large room, great breakfast and the overall country quietness made for a wonderful experience.

This was such a wonderful place it inspired me to start a Trip Advisor account, which I've only been thinking about for 5 years ha. Specifically, what my wife and I loved about this place were the following: 1) Alberto and his partners who own and run this place are among the most hospitable hosts we've ever known. They grow...

Indeed the location of this casa rural is unique in the beautiful landscape of the Atlantic Basque coast. One can look quit far from the casa rural to the sea, overlooking Bermeo. The place is built by the owners some 7 or 8 years ago on a plot that they made fit all by themselves. The owners is a group...

Our stay was a unique experience - the location and accommodation are great, our hosts don't talk English but do speak French (we have a little) so we did the language dance and got along great. At breakfast our hosts wore traditional clothes and were always friendly. They have an organic food operation so offered fresh vegetables and eggs every...

This B&B was a great place to start our Spain vacation. The view is what drew us here and it did not disappoint. We did not have GPS but there are "Lurdeia" signs on BI-631 as you get closer to town which is what we followed to get to this remote B&B. The town of Bermeo itself is not worth...

We stayed in Lurdeia for two nights in mid October and it was the ideal location for the start of our tour of the Basque Country. The room was very spacious and clean and the views just fabulous. The owners were very friendly and most helpful. We would certainly recommend this property but be aware that you need a car...

This was the perfect place to end our holiday travelling through the Basque Country. The house is stunning, spacious, very clean and the rooms are big and comfortable. Lurdeia is located on top of a hill overlooking Bermeo, mountains and the sea - unforgettable views! The staff at the hotel was extremely welcoming, helpful and kind making our stay as...

I am a welcoming home in keeping with the tradition that our predecessors followed, year after year, in the Basque Country. The sea and the moon bear witness to this. When the sun does not show itself and shines with little force, it will be my fire that keeps you warm. ... more   less
